poem of the day November 30

The space
between
valleys
is often
overlooked
when
trying
to pick
fresh
green
apples
hanging
from the
other side
of the
mountain

poem of the day November 29

For gathered
hands
within
the fold
Singing farm
songs
by the
wood stove
Deciding
whether
red or white
while
conversations
drift
like
rudderless
boats
Traveling
circles
worn
by
rounded
moats

poem of the day November 28

Long gone
the days
Old
dreams
now part
of the sea
Waves
currents
have
splashed
on the
same
rock
for a
lifetime
Worn
skin
shedding
like
a shore
of fragile
moments
on the
ever
moving
light of
time
Yet
the old
man
still
stands
like a
mountain
singing
songs
from
deep
within

poem of the day November 27

Snow
on green
on silhouetted beams
on maple branches
full of dances
Every flake
falls below
covering sins
from
long ago
Within
this field
of glistening
white
a chance
to discover
the inner
light
Where
purity
of the
falling
snow
makes
amends
with long
lost
friends

poem of the day November 26

The anticipation
of a storm
is often
the leading
edge of
unsettled
desire
Fingers
wrapped
around
a cup of
coffee
Rap
Tap
Tapping
to the
exquisite
drum
beat
of something
beyond
a mortal's
control

poem of the day November 26

The cup
of life
was in
the middle
swelled
with all
kinds of
temptations
making it
appear
more then
half full
One by one
the attractive
desires
floating
on the
surface
were
eagerly
sucked
down
by the
addicted
until
the cup
in time
became
seen
to most
as
half empty

poem of the day November 24

Ode
to the
Cloud
of
clouds
My cloud
Your cloud
Everybody
has
Cloud
Cloud
on a
hot tin roof
Seeping
fine mist
soul
Clouds
that all
rush
to be
Cloud sky
Cloud Night
First Cloud
I see tonight

poem of the day November 23

Sometimes
the truth
becomes
obscured
Hidden
along the
Trail of
Judgement
Tripped over
by tumbling
well intention
rocks
thrown
by
other
cover
souls
Like
Candy canes
dangling
on the
bridge
hoping
to feel
the rain

poem of the day November 22

The dreams
were
on the
front
line
Inspecting
archetypes
Boogie man
had fallen
in love with
Mother helper
which made
Everyman
cringed
Not even
Superman
could keep
them apart
The dreams
all agreed
unless
something
was done
they would
have a
nightmare
on their
hands

poem of the day November 21

Who would have thought
Machine Astrology
would be such  a world wide craze
Billions were being spent on getting the right machine
Making sure you and your machine had a compatible aura
Otherwise you could end up
with the Machine from Hell
Proponents claim:
Knowing your machine’s horoscope
is essential to having a happy healthy machine
You’ll know when to avoid the printer on a bad machine day
On a very inauspicious  day
you can  keep your machine home
transcending  any cosmic meltdowns
With a Zodiac made up of common tool names
the astrology is easy to understand
Take for instance the sign of the Hammer
Hammer
is strong
Forceful
Confident
But easy to
anger
Not compatible
with the
Light Bulb

poem of the day November 20

“I can't
take it
anymore
Everybody
wants
me to
be someone
else”
Plastic Man
screamed
as he
stretched
himself
over the
bridge
where
millions
were
watching
Still
most
were
shocked
when
he swan-dived
into the
bottomless
pit
of someone
else's
perfection

poem of the day November 19

Frost
appears
white faced
Cold
seeps
into
meadow
dawn
Frigid
morning
fog
Silently
creeps
until
chill
spills
over
like
frozen
lava
to soak
all the
warm
away

poem of the day November 18

The complete
cards
of thought
were open
to everyone
solely on the
moment
of their
birth
Desert
Ocean
Magic
Potions
Yet only
after
a few
minutes
of breathing
ideas
it was
already
impossible
for most
not
to mix
fact
and
fiction
without
falling
into
emotions
of addiction

poem of the day November 17

The homemade
dress
was too
small
for the
ball
The lone
gunman
ran out
of bullets
before
firing
even
a single
shot
Truth
stood
still
waiting
at the
corner
Luckily
there was
enough
time to
catch up
Change
skins
and play
the pretty
dead cat
bounce

poem of the day November 16

Fleeting
Meeting
Seeking
Searching
The time
spent
pent up
on the
fence
Red
threads
best
dressed
like
fresh
west
chest
played
slow
in a
game
called
lives
ago
But after
many
hues
are used
with no
real
news
the time
has
come
The hen of
Zen
will be
seating
the meeting

poem of the day November 15

Fog covers
imperfection
better
then low lights
at a restaurant
cover
dreams
of lovers
trying to
merge
into
some
cloudy
nature
far
away from
the open
eyes
of clarity
found
only
in the
truth
of light

poem of the day November 14

First snow
was nothing
more then
a dusting
Just
a fresh
peck
on nature's
cheek
Beautiful
white
flakes
on the
last
of the
green
grass
made for
a combination
of color
only seen
in the
beginning
of the
long ride
into
winter

poem of the day November 13

It was
an all
time
low
even for
our
litigious
nation
A militant
prayer
group
was
suing
God
for not
delivering
them
from
evil
Claiming
in their
brief
that
a miracle
was
consciously
withheld
from true
believers
with no
regard
to the
depth
of their
faith
Everyone
was worried
that a
not guilty
verdict
would
open
the
flood gates
of hell

poem of the day November 12

It was
a grasshopper day
Warm fall
air
Leaves
flying
here
and
there
Sun
darting
through
branches
of bare
trees
Getting ready
for winter
But very
happy
for one
more
beautiful
lick on
the face
by the
slow
moving
afternoon
glow
of an
Indian
summer

poem of the day November 11

“I think
anger is
the one
virus
I should
not have
infected
humans
with
when
I made
them”
God
said
to his
Dogs
as they
watched
Yet
another
uncontrollable
man made
war

poem of the day November 10

Burdock
stands
by the
edge
of the
meadow
Waiting
for the
unaware
traveler
to brush
against it
One touch
and the
Smiling
burr
hitches
a ride
across
the field
All the
time
burrowing
deeper
and
deeper
until
it is
finally
discovered
Pulled off
and thrown
into the
unknown
of a new
home

poem of the day November 9

The plan
before
the dawn
is always
full
of hope
containing
seeds
needed
to carry
the long
dream
inside
fragile
porcelain
canoes
easily
broken
by days
of rock
hard
lifetimes
circling
again
and again
like
waves
until
one breaks
free as
planned

poem of the day November 8

Intimacy
is very
sacred
and
discovered
after
walking
in human
shoes
with
another
over
miles
of
karma
and
years
of trust
into the
darma
of
linked
minds
in this
moment
of time

poem of the day November 7

The new
surface
on the
old
road
covered
everything
leaving
only
memories
buried
in the
subconscious
of those
who
traveled it

poem of the day November 6

Day
Night
Sunrise
Sunset
Finding
Losing
Beginning
Ending
Up the
Mountain
Down the
Valley
All part
of time
spent
somewhere
in the
temple

poem of the day November 5

It seems
that
Everyone
has
their own
idea  of
contentment”
the fool
said
Trying
to make
sense
of everything
as he
watched
the busy
flock
rushing
by him
just
for the
sake
of
rushing

poem of the day November 4

Grey November
masterpiece
The farmer
gazing
at the
silver
barked
hillside
Naked
Trunks
standing
Tall
in the
solitary
fall
light
A momentary
reflection
Soon
overtaken
by thoughts
of chilly
nights
hanging
around
farm piles
in need of
shelter
from
the white
cold
of winter’s
wind
