poem of the day April 28
I was sitting
I was sitting
watching from
the back row
The hall was filled
with all kinds
of traveling souls
Great experts full of nonsense
were flowering on stage blooming opinions
All were covered in many degrees
passionately discussing whether
it was was better
to have calm within the chaos
or whether it was better
to have chaos within the calm?

poem of the day April 25
Sometimes the most satisfying
Sometimes the most satisfying
pleasures in life are cleaning up
the drudge of last year's fallen leaves
The raking of long spent tears into piles
Burning the over thought branches of brush
until they are turned to primordial ash
where fresh possibilities are able to grow
new life out of the old dead soil
But only if one allows themselves
to light the first inner spark hiding within
the eternal folds of a self made lifetime

poem of the day April 17
A preacher preaches
A preacher preaches
with little understanding
to whatever God they believe
A politician gets elected
by repeating their daily lies
A weatherman just guesses
if the suns going to rise
While a poet makes it all up
each day with a pen
to feed the old barnyard
with fresh words from the hens

poem of the day April 14
There is too much raw evil
There is too much raw evil
scattered around this world
The God of heaven thought as he
flew over the planet Earth where
huge piles of precious natural resources
waited to be mixed together
in greedy man made factories for enough
bombs to bomb the way to hell
All he could do was shake his head
It was too late to stop the fate of hate

poem of the day April 10
Space crowded
Space crowded
the empty spaces
of every soul mind
Strings clinging to thoughts
dangle like jellyfish wombs
full of moist barbs
ready to sink
even the mighty Titanic
where the unsinkable ship waited to sail
from a long Port
many years ago
A perceived immortality
floating on simple water unaware
that a few degrees can
fill the empty space of time

poem of the day April 7
Spring is not starting
Spring is not starting
What a strange year
The earth wants to know why
and so do I
Is it the angle of the sun
or some angel messing with the sum of one?
Is one complete
or just the inside track
of a horse in a race
galloping toward the Milky Way?
Is it random?
Is it ordained?
Does it have a name?
Is it born in Spain?
My friend was well dressed in a blue suit
drinking at a prison bar that seemed so far
I was the ugly universal vagabond
eating good chocolate on the farm
Wondering if dreams begin when consciousness ends
in the game we all love to pretend

poem of the day April 2
Tranquil is a state
Tranquil is a state
with certain types of calm
Perhaps you have them in you
Perhaps they're in your bones
I had been surfing my tomorrows
when the long boat came around
I did not notice anything until
the calm became a storm
and then I needed tranquilizers
to get me tranquil to my home

poem of the day April 1
Light in the darken castle
Light in the darken castle
The knight is from the inside out
Maidens dressed in many colors
swim around the fountain head
Fishing in the wishing well
depends upon the bait we use
Worms are for the easy
Luck is for the rest
but all walk the very ancient bridge
that spans the open flowing water
to see within the seas we live
