poem of the day May 8
There once was a Constitution
but that was a long time ago
Now we crawl inside of moral decay
where the moral pray to the amoral
who prey on the blind trust of the moral
Impossible you might say
But cat birds do lay their
eggs in the nests of other birds
twisting the eggs of justice into laws
of screaming self centered chaos
I see the fallen eggs on the fence
lined up in the fear of indecision
like Humpty Dumpty
cracked old shells being emptied
of the last breaths of kindness
No longer caring about the truth
yet believing now that evil wants to be good
All over America buckwheat struggles to grow in
the old fields cleared by the founding fathers
I ask with some sadness: Where have all the heroes gone
