poem of the day May 31

Water carved time
is the face
of the future
I see cracks
seeping over proud levies
about to flood the
well planned ideas
of many a lifetime
Small drops of water
start out tiny
only to grow into
rushing rivers as they
rise beyond the seas
Better get a good boat
even if you live on a mountain
and make sure it floats

poem of the day May 29

The world has gone crazy
Traffic jams on Mount Everest
A long line of insanity
has invaded
the most remote
place on earth
Is there any reality
man has not spoiled?
Plastic bags have
invaded the North Pole
I hear the polar bears
have begun to worship them
having learned this Sutra from
an insane adventurer right
before they ate him

poem of the day May 28

The smell of lilac
fills the air
Sweet spring
nectar everywhere
Take the time
to breath it in
to your deepest bones
but do it quick
before the scent is gone

poem of the day May 27

Somethings about Memorial Day
evokes a deep passion
seeing rows and rows
of red white and blue
full of fallen hero ghosts
fluttering in the wind
I feel the colors so full of raw emotions
Since conception like all Americans
the flag has been a rallying cry
deeply ingrained into my being
so much a part of the American foundation
It is just a shame it is now used to
control our patriotic brains for
nothing but some mad selfish game of gain

poem of the day May 26

A reunion
can take
many forms
spontaneous
rehearsed
or maybe both
It is the merging
light of souls
on the path of electricity
preordained by the Milky Way

poem of the day May 25

The soul of a flower
is different then
the soul of a tree
Both souls are different
then the soul of me
Yet I find the bridge
where we all walk
to be of the same Earth
just grown on different stalks

poem of the day May 24

The rock has been marking time
ever since it was placed in the round garden
on that one day the sun and moon were both high noon
Over the years sometimes a leaf from a nearby tree
would land on the rock with the force of eternity
And when it did time stood still for a while
allowing the will of the rock to look up and smile

poem of the day May 23

The birds
were flying
all around
Beaks full
of twigs
building homes
for their families
The sky was like
a busy highway
It was so special
I watched the action
along with a sparrow hawk
who of course
was watching for other reasons

poem of the day

Once drifting up
Now drifting down
America has entered
the reign of the clown
The machines
have learned
to fly themselves
without trustworthy trust
In a new nation
being turned to rust
Yet the holy line up
in angry rows
to grow the hate
from deep lost toes
But that is what happens
when you lose the soul
of your very very moral inner
You pray for the sinner to be the winner

poem of the day May 21

Sinking into
the familiar
might feel
like nirvana
even though
it might be hell
But how to tell?
I think it has to do
with your inner bell

poem of the day May 20

Black flies
swarm the warm
flesh of mankind
covering our skin
with bites of sin
beginning the itchy
May frustration
of earned
but unwanted repentance
I am just glad
only a few flies
live as long
as it takes to read
this unpleasant poem

poem of the day May 19

A clear sky
brings the
universe closer
A clear mind
brings the
universe closer
Time does not exist
in a pure mirror
no matter the distance
the trick is to use a good clear polish

poem of the day May 18

The call of the wild
The whisper of fate
went out to dinner
on a first date
The wild ate meat
tamed like a dog
The whisper ate berries
from the uninhabited bog
And when the piano
sang their familiar song
both of them knew
the moment was wrong

poem of the day May 17

I see the sun
in the head
of a dandelion
sitting on a throne
of green
yellow globe for
king and queen
Yet many do
not share my praise
only dig the flowers
until they're dug away

poem of the day May 16

Catching happiness
is contagious
Laughter is
very green gasoline
And a smile is
like a pickup truck
that pulls both sides
of your lips up
into a very lasting grin
to be passed to a friend

poem of the day May 15

The vanity
of insanity
shines in the mirror
showing the world
there are no
real rules laws
just the made
up morals
of humanism
To find truth
one has to
understand
the only constant
is the universe
of cause and effect
so don't get upset
if your caught in the net

poem of the day May 14

Smells of rain
Primordial  mixing
of heaven and earth
The deep rooted soil
floating in fog clouds alive
with the scent of flowers
I think maybe a rainy day
is not as bad as they say

poem of the day May 13

This is me
Just a flea
in the Milky Way
Riding life
on the
universal dog
Binge wishing
for more
like champagne
and caviar
before  the door

poem of the day May 12

Have you ever
truly melted
into the bliss?
Given up control
Let yourself truly float
on the magic tide
Unconcerned with time
No longer needing
to pretend to steer what has
always been the rudderless boat
I have heard
There are
many way
of melting
even if you have lived
your whole life
inside a very frozen fire
The only thing needed
to truly melt the heart
is a field of dreams
in which to start

poem of the day May 11

Pomp & Circumstance
The ritual of graduation
The band playing the familiar
soulful song of celebration
A full horned melody born in the practice
of belonging to a tribe
The past is recorded in the
practice of repetition
New faces is all that
is need to bridge the wall
of endless generations

poem of the day May 10

Good water
rains down
full of unwanted
men and women
trying to be
as extinct as dinosaurs

poem of the day May 9

A carpet of grass
looks so luxurious
as it begins a new season
As I walk the fresh meadow
full of big hope eternal
I feel just like a happy frog
frolicking in a spring pool of vernal

poem of the day May 8

There once was a Constitution
but that was a long time ago
Now we crawl inside of moral decay
where the moral  pray to the amoral
who prey on the blind trust of the moral
Impossible you might say
But cat birds do lay their
eggs in the nests of other birds
twisting  the eggs of justice into laws
of screaming self centered chaos
I see the fallen eggs on the fence
lined up in the fear of indecision
like Humpty Dumpty
cracked old  shells being emptied
of the last breaths of kindness
No longer caring about the truth
yet believing now that evil wants to be good
All over America buckwheat struggles to grow in
the old fields cleared by the founding fathers
I ask with some sadness: Where have all the heroes gone

poem of the day May 7

Words written on an old postcard
are always alive and waiting with a
glimpse of life from another age
A short plunge into the moment
of a long gone soul lays dormant
until awoken by the eyes of a stranger
This simple act of reading brings out
a certain kind of immortality

poem of the day May 6

To explore beyond the door
the inner lock has to be picked
Has to overcome the familiar
The over cooking of the same pie
The old oven only cooks fresh fruit
as far as the gated entrance
Yet tight locked or wide open
this change can not happen
till ones stands on the other side
of the waiting door

poem of the day May 5

Sound of a swollen river
can be heard from afar
but only if one is listening
in the deep dark early silence
found right before the songs of dawn

poem of the day May 4

Running for the roses
with a suitcase of hats
I hold a fist full of dollars
as the horses take to track
I am going to bid the long shot
Picking him straight up to win
then sip upon a few mint juleps
while I await the Derby to begin

poem of the day May 3

The light coming from flowers
Inner soul rays very warm
and full of vibrant colors
Like a new spring coat
making a bold statement
worthy of the Gods

poem of the day May 2

Singing songs of celebration
dressed in their finest feathery
a farm full of birds await the sun
I hear them serenading the silent dawn
with eager sounds of brave anticipation
