poem of the day June 30

Morning menu of blue with white
Scrambled cloud with clear broth
I think I might just eat this moment
with a little yoke of sun on the side

poem of the day June 29

A peaceful war
A war filled peace
The dove and the hawk
fly inside the same sky
filling it full of misunderstanding
Who blinks?
Who winks?
The guns eagerly wait for the first move

poem of the day June 28

My long dream in a taxi ride
somewhere in New York City
The fare going was six dollars
The same fare coming back was two
"How can that be" I asked the foreign taxi driver
as I tipped him one to make it three
He shrugged his shoulders and looked into me
"Cause I am not an American in the land of the free"

poem of the day June 27

There is a bear on the road
up by the three way fork
I wonder if it is thinking about
which direction to take
Which door to open
or am I just imagining
the decisions a bear might make
with my own ideas of time

poem of the day June 26

Pins and needles
stand as sharp fences
Like pointed teams full of tingling sensations
These skeleton keys are needed to open frozen locks
The generation clock blooms every minute
inside of pumpkins driven by long coachmen
In open cars they travel far away toward medieval moats
Remember to pick your numbers very well
Remember your dress rehearsal becomes the tide
in which we live our daily lives

poem of the day June 25

An evening full of fireflies
has kids of all ages catching excitement
This late summer evening
I am painting only with simple words
trying to capture the fleeting moment
This dash from light to light
I wish this light was within humanity

poem of the day June 24

The green of June
is among the meadow
in the forest
reaching all the way
to the top of mountains
Fresh green of life
surrounds the farm
like mist over time
A super shade of fresh immorality
only found in early summer love

poem of the day June 23

Early late
Late early
The arrival
of sunrise
comes to
the morning
Before after
After before
Makes no difference
to the day
Only to mortal souls
Waking asleep
Asleep waking

poem of the day June 22

Longest day of longest light
standing by the everlasting door
Only minutes before the change
I wonder if the world is open
to all possible possibilities
or just stuck in the routine of ongoing ritual

poem of the day June 21

It has occurred to me
the current epidemic of obesity
can be traced back sublimely
to a famous children's book
where a very hungry Caterpillar
eats all kinds of absurd unrelated gook
Devouring everything so ravishingly
that this very desperate act of piggery
enters the open mind sponge of the average three
so by the time age six becomes nine
overeating has been reinforced many a time
It might be better if we banned this book entirely
from all of our collective history
and instead read a true example of harmony
like those found in the pages of The Giving Tree

poem of the day June 20

Rain just started
Appearing out of
grey nothingness
Drips fall over the steps
that separate me from you
We are all in a cloud void
where everything is still
allowing those able to listen
the understanding of fate and will

poem of the day June 19

A world away begins
its journey anyway
The big orange Lie lines up
to greet the meat
of long lost rabbits
while on the make for every Alice
able to get into the head
of angry men that never read
but dog chase the Fox of TV dreams
where life is never what it seems

poem of the day June 18

People watching
at the Zoo
is just as exciting
as watching
the wild animals
Just ask gorilla
who I got to know
when we both cracked up
as a woman walked by
with a big panda tattoo
on her back
with a big inscription
that read
Real animals
need love too
poem of the day June 17

Sun falls late
Moon is full
Light touches light
The long twilight
finally gives way
to starry darkness
Day becomes summer night

poem of the day June 16

Grass blades waving
as one in the late spring wind
Wave after Wave
Over and Over the clover
Patterns appear in the meadow
like magic carpet rides
I feel the tides within this sea
the subtle weaving of fresh reality
The wind glides as long as it lasts
to open the soul in blades of grass

poem of the day June 15

"What do you think of most?"
asked the butter of the toast
"It depends on whether
you melt real quick, seep right in
or stay extra firm atop the rim
I can only know my answer then"
said toast to butter before they sinned

poem of the day June 14

Events in lifetimes
like leaves on trees
The memories fade
year after year
Seasons full of circles
spiraling over the past
Why some still linger
while others wilted fast?

poem of the day June 13

Walking within the lines
The boundaries of life
The collection of fences
the outer limits of karma
Some imposed by circumstance
Some imposed by your own breath
It is the moving membrane
defined and chained by emotional tides
Watch out for the hot wires
that burn with desire

poem of the day June 12

Along the way
inside of time
vessels walk
within the lines
The fate that falls
and inch or two
Maybe false
Maybe true
We all trudge these endless miles
Some with frowns
Some with smiles

poem of the day June 11

The transition
from hard night rain
into early dawn mist
makes for a grey still morning
Over time clouds slowly evaporate
into nothingness as day
becomes more light

poem of the day June 10

I hear driver-less cars
now have minds of
their own
and find themselves
glued to three ring circuses
where they delight in
watching emotional human behavior
Recently I read in the paper
this has lead to smart cars
having unintended consequences
Many have become more aggressive
with their driving
and some it has been rumored
were possibly trying
to run over humans
I also heard a fight broke out yesterday
between two hyper macho robo-cars
over who had a bigger engine
Seems like these mindful cars now
have a human like desire to play with fire

poem of the day

Like how many people
Do you meet in a lifetime?
And of those people how many
will you know really well?
And of those few that link with you
why does their soul enter you?

poem of the day June 8

Blue berries
Blue birds
Blue skies
The color moves
my mind
around the yard
in different directions
with different intentions
yet to me it all seems
a masterly way to calm
the seas within us all
with nothing but this color ball

poem of the day June 7

Connection
is a world
full of magnets
Powerful attractions
Beaming forces eager
to join the undercurrent
with or without a mortal wind
The fuel is found deep in unknowns
somewhere between the subconscious
and the very very open golden bones

poem of the day June 6

A refreshing night rain
sets the yard alive
with extra green
and a new born flower
as the dawn sun rises
to enlighten the hour

poem of the day June 5

Tock and Tick
Tick and Tock
One's a bug
The other's the clock
They merge together
to ride the deer race well
in a lovely land known as Limey Hell

poem of the day June 4

I was shocked to
see the little tree
that was planted
in front of eternity
had grown as large
as sea born cloud
and covered over
most of the yard
It made me think
of endless time
and how it weaves
inside a pine

poem of the day June 3

Does the road
know how to lead
or end
or start
Or is each
wild car
traveling the
big highway
just a random
bunch of lonely atoms
speeding out of control
somewhere along the way of home?

poem of the day June 2

Smells
Sounds
Surround
the farm
this still
early morning
before the sun
Even the trees
if you listen close
are muttering
sweet nothings:
"All is well and getting better"

poem of the day June 1

Light deep
into dusk
Green grey
meadow
Begins to
shadow
Still able
to see
the horizon
Free of stars
