I dreamed I was the goldfish in Aunt Marilyn’s kitchen living in a one room glass fish tank full of New York City tap water with a grand view of the refrigerator and the old gas stove I had nothing to do but dream of the nothingness of life which became very meaningful when I realized perhaps I really was the goldfish who was dreaming up me

poem of the day October 27
I learned at the party of the new centenarian
his secret of longevity
I was surprised to hear It was to always worry Yet not be in a hurry Plan a full rewarding day But mostly surround yourself with the love of friends and family
where the circle of life never ends

poem of the day November 26
Fire and Water
all over the world
Floods and Infernos
Wind eating Wood
Climate change is not going good

poem of the day October 25
I wasn't able to walk on water
but I was able to walk in water
though I got very wet on pure H2O
that should count for something
especially when I see that sinners are
in charge of handing out the blessings

poem of the day October 24
The difference
between boats
is just some water
slapping within the tides
And nothing like the big waves
that wash life upon the shores

poem of the day October 23
Begin another morning
on the wall of ritual
Wash your face
Say some grace
Then stumble
out the door

poem of the day October 21
A flower opens
with a sudden burst
of emotion found deep
inside the marrow
Rising to bloom
like big wet eyes
of a heart felt storm
poem of the day October 22
It take a lot of years
to live to be a hundred
So few reach this club of a century
Where 36,500 days of sunrises, sunsets
house a million memories of past events
It is a rare special life full of humanity
to be one that knows the secret of longevity
And soon at his happy 100 birthday party
I will ask my friend, the centurion
How does one live to be three score and forty

poem of the day October 20
Up before for the fall sun
feeling the fresh cold of night
linger on my open soul
I am like the meadow grass
full of eager anticipation
waiting for the warm light

poem of the day October 19
Some trees
have lost
their leaves
Others are
full of color
A checker board
marks every change
as seasons turn
within this game

poem of the day October 18
A 19th century evening Oil lamps light the house In bed very early to sleep away the night I am up now trying to remember my old fashioned dreams from generations long ago
poem of the day October 17
Rain and wind The power out Dark gray day lingers longer then the life of morning candles
Wednesday, October 16, 2019
poem of the day October 16
The still before
an all out rain
allows for quiet reflections
where one is able
to savoir the past while it lasts

poem of the day October 15
Tables wait
inside a room
Well dressed with
china from the wall
A parade of food
makes its way
as gathered chairs begin to fill
Soon a toast is called
all around the world
with familiar songs from every home
Giving life to tables waiting their room

poem of the day October 14
A triangle became a circle
Two triangles became a star
I was looking at the Milky Way
trying to find all universal shapes
while sitting on my earthly square
It was then I realized the door
of eternity was nothing but a rectangle
swinging on the shaped filled hinges of life

poem of the day October 13
Happy within a bound sea
the little fish swims so free
until it reaches the river's edge
where other water begins to spread
beyond the gate of familiar tears
into the pool of worldly fears
Saturday, October 12, 2019
poem of the day October 12
A leaf alive
within the wind
flutters on
wings of whim
Where to go
What to see
I wonder as I watch it be

poem of the day October 10
How many drips of dew fill a dawn?
The elixir sweet fog of night dreams
covers the earth like a long wet blanket
Shivering souls sweat songs before the sun
How many drips can you count on a tongue?

poem of the day October 10
I am looking for
an emotional support tree
One I can bring with me
On a plane to Spain
so I won't have to face
the falling rain alone
And turn the water into happy cheers
instead of sadness found in old long tears

poem of the day October 9
There are no cross roads anymore
cause no chicken in their right mind
wants to get to the other's side
There are only tribal teams
Big paper tigers riding blind cheerleaders
that dazzle the mind while dancing
on a stage full of black hate and white love
"What happened?" God shouted to a pack of righteous worms
dressed in Sunday best he found walking the narrow minded road
"Don't you know the early birds soon will be a coming"
poem of the day October 8
A march of change
needs a direction
Otherwise it
ends up going
in circles of raw emotion

poem of the day October 7
After many years
There is one thing I know
I see the mountain
and later living
same as you always do
Sunday, October 6, 2019
poem of the day October 6
Some worlds are open Some worlds are closed How to know which is which takes a lifetime to behold
Saturday, October 5, 2019
poem of the day October 5
The simple pleasure of food
The anticipation of recipes
Handed down favorites
All special
All love felt
A good time for families
to share suppers
around the home table
full of happy conversations
warmed by belly laughs
both sweet and savory
Friday, October 4, 2019
poem of the day October 4
Drifting in a gentle dawn rain
wet leaves filled with night dreams
fall to the ground full of memories
I wonder if they will remember their journey
when awaken by the drying light of day
Thursday, October 3, 2019
poem of the day October 3
The gate of stagnation blew open
in a free wind for the first time in years
It took a while for indecisive footprints
caught in their own red and white shoes
to move forward through the polarized soil
salted with the hatred of loud fear-mongers
The gate was bathed in the pure blue sunshine of the constitution
Looking back it was a good day of freedom

poem of the day October 2
Wind clouds held hands looking very married Sky was bright blue Half shadow sun illuminated two sunflowers Drums from a muted plane engine accompanied a monarch flying over the meadow
