poem of the day November 30

An absence of leaves
dot the hillside
in a stark
winter pattern
emerging effortlessly
on a greyish day
Set off especially well
by patches of
big white pines
looking very green
tall and fancy
like Mr Clean

poem of the day November 29

The image of
stunning abruptness
The first snow
landscape changed
everything different
an instant
winter wonderland
Only because water
mixed with cold
black and white
no vague of grey

poem of the day November 28

What is the reality
beyond a round world
Something that merges
time with place
into a oneness
A beacon driven
by energy
Would you call
it nothingness
or would
you call it god?

poem of the day November 26

Time walks
very differently
depending on
the hour
of the day
I heard
the most change
happens in
a good dream
especially ones
full of miracles

poem of the day November 25

Covid is like
a walk along
the rim
of an abyss
while on
the steep slope
of an imminent landslide
A journey
of how to
carefully tiptoe
on the brink
of  balance

poem of the day November 24

A gallop of dead leaves
stampeded across the road
in a wild unruly herd
covering my car
with soulless  zombies born
of cold wind vigor

poem of the day November 23

I am going to buy a big gun
and without any training
I am going to pretend to be
a law enforcement deputy
though i am only a vigilante
cause to be really free
someone has to protect
the American way
of white supremacy
i'll go down to some protest
to guard some vacant lot
with other great white patriots
all armed, ready to take a shot
and when i see an anarchist
i'll point my gun in their face
and if they try to stop me
i'll shoot them dead
then claim self defence
where with the help
of a white bias judge
full of blatant sympathy
I'll be acquitted and soon set  free
able to once again to defend
Patriotic American white supremacy

poem of the day November 22

Strange to see
the forsythia in
bloom on a cold
late November day
A day when
all other flowers
have gone away
How does one explain
this phenomenon
Last year's bud
or next year's run?

poem of the day November 21

When good deep
moonlight shines
through the barren
leafless branches
of wintering trees
A strange
otherworldly
glow from
the universe
emerges
as an illuminating
light full of mystery

poem of the day November 20

A sponge mind
absorbs all things
toxic and pristine
The mind works
like a machine
without perfection
immersed in the
culture formed
by liked minded
twists of thought
Expressions floating on
the winds of humanity
not necessarily
formed by any kind
of rational morality

 poem of the day November19

Each and everyday
when we wake up
we are all living
in a wonderful
indescribable miracle
not of our making
but what we make
of this miracle
is of our choosing

poem of the day November 18

Would you rather breathe
the air of Earth
or some brew
remixed in outer space?
This unnatural desire to travel
where no man has been
Is it future?
Is it sin?
And what is sin
but a human word
tied to nothing
but shades of our idea
of love and hate
in which all minds swim
within a frosty sea
Where we all see choice advertised
on a big one eyed rocket ship
Will we march ahead Or will we wait
know that one will become our fate

poem of the day November 17

Close your eyes
imagine you have
just dropped into
a new pristine body
without any of your
physical or mental
imperfections
Try to embrace your
new body of perfection
with new ideas
Repeat each morning
until imagination
becomes reality

poem of the day November 16

Small thin patches
of dusty early snow
mix well with fallen leaves
covering the last green
of a long gone summer
The white brown blanket
woven by nature
looked very inviting
and full of rest

poem of the day November 15

Pure light as it
pours through
naked branches
shows the true
form of a tree's
inner soul journey
Bare and beautiful
no longer hiding under
the shallow skin of clothes

poem of the day November 14

I imagine
the start of rain
as signs of change
Some drift in so quiet
hardly changing anything
until one is soaked without knowing
Some gallop in full of vigor
like driven horses holding a wet banner
announcing each and every step
Yet eventual the change comes through'
The sun rises at dawn, the sky blues and
I am able to hear the beautiful songs of birds

poem of the day November 13

We are now in
the inbreeding
of thought
deeper and deeper
into the same idea
repeated in some
abstraction where
we sit on a screen
and are fed along
a narrow highway
into an ever extreme movement
where truth never matters
It truly is a scary time
where evil warlords
amass armies
of what were once
good people with good values
that have been eroded
until there is no law but war

poem of the day November 12

A perfect red apple
lay in the middle of the road
It had fallen from a tree that
usually was full of an apple bounty
but this year the tree had only this one fruit
I drove by it for a couple of weeks
amazed that a deer had not eaten the feast
Finally I stopped and picked the apple up
When I did, I flashed on Snow White
I felt evil was somewhere very close around
yet I shook off the thought and made my way home
Then I brought in the apple and put it on my shelf
to eat it later when I was alone with myself
but before I did I came down with the chills
and began to feel really super ill
I had a fever, chills, and sweats
For four days I suffered through a flu like haze
and  I needed to do something to be saved
Then I remember the apple and what it might mean
Everything was crazy just like a dream
I knew then that I needed to put the apple back
so my wife drove it back and placed it where it had been
And i am feeling somewhat better, but also wondering what
might have happened if I had eaten the evil fruit

poem of the day November 11

So many boats
on land and sea
Some small with
only one soul
Some small
full of souls
Some grand
with only one soul
Some grand
full of souls
seems like there
should be a better way
of taking care of all souls
for the good of mankind

poem of the day November 10

Everybody drifts
for a while inside
their own dreams
hoping for cool rays
perhaps a hot car
some lovely tunes
and most important
a good comfortable chair
in which to wait

poem of the day November 9

Clouds fog drizzle
dripping over
the slippery bark
of a silver skinned
sugar maple that
has lost its leaves
in Grey November

poem of the day November 8

Light retreating
like water
in a desert pond
All the animals
crowd together
as the days  shrink
One after another
Less light presses
on the afternoon
Condensing time
into a small island
with less light
But still able to hold
off the  growing march of dark

poem of the day November 7

Easy to see the discontent
Easy to see
democracy failing
under siege
Fake news
Alternate facts
Alternative realities
Crypto currency
Total disregard for law
Total disregard for truth
Everything built on distrust
Nefarious laundered money
becomes seeds of greed
widening the divide between
Rich and Poor
No real value
No gold standard
Just a wild spaghetti  western
absorption of constant lies
Disinformation sprouting vines of black and white
Fueled by anger
Fueled by fear
Homegrown conspiracies
roll like tumbleweed
where loaded guns discharge
every time there is a movie

poem of the day November 6 Here trying to hear

Here trying to hear
the quiet
Sounds of Silence
The beautiful music
of the primordial
The rhythm of
the universe
but each time
I stand silent
like a stoic tree
I am interrupted
by the distracting
mundane clatter noise
of all things familiar

poem of the day November 5 How many steps

How many steps
make a good walk
should depend more
on the perseverance
of the walker
than a pair of shoes
though their comfort
to old bones
is easily confused
with the need
to finish a good journey

poem of the day November 4  Veils of time

Veils of time
thick and thin
find all spirits
near the skin
The atmosphere
is very close
to see the lives
of living ghosts
Dreams come out
climb ethereal ladders
to contact those
open to matter

poem of the day November 3

I like the ay
grass looks
after a frost
Still green
but relaxed
No longer
reaching
every second
for the sun
It falls on the meadow
one blade after another
forming a seamless blanket
of deep very greenie fancy

poem of the day November 2

A slip of dawn
on a rocky night
slim & steady
to anyone up
The light grows
along the black
like a whitebird flock
on a seagull shore
until the dark is no more

poem of the day November 1

"The month has
ended very well"
I heard the rabbit call
to the waiting clock
as they both jumped
from a hole very full
of yesterday into
a new whole beginning
Once inside the rim
of a new month
the rabbit had little more to say
of the future
Other then the usual
"Happy Rabbit day!"
