poem of the day December 23
What if all the rain
was full of everything
that ever did we dream
All thoughts and hopes
of everyone falling back
to where we came
Drops mixed with souls
we never meet
except within this ball
Each drip a memory
from deep inside
deep inside our walls
Which one of these
would belong to you?
Which one would
belong to me?
It's hard to say
in a driving rain
with mixed up destiny

poem of the day December 17
A tree for a house
once nailed to the peak
as a strange cross
of eternal hope
Now resides inside
decorated by families
hanging treasured globes
of lost spirituality
Old memories
handed down
from room to room
are radiated with love
from the soul of an evergreen
able to provide a lovely spark
for the return of light
to a world so dark

poem of the day December 9
Many times I
have driven
by a large pond
and thought
What is the biggest
fish in the pond?
I was thinking about
that last night as I
was gazing at
the stars
as they flowed
in the river
of the Milky Way
And I began
to muse about
extraterrestrial life
Wondering what
and where
is the biggest
fish in the universe?

poem of the day December 4
Understanding
Absorbing
The grand healing power
of holiday food cooking
The smells as
house and family
wait in anticipation
for a satisfying feast
The mixing of
savior and sweet
Pies cooling
Roast beasting
Potatoes mashing
Bean casseroling
Cookies cooking
5 golden things
These favorite recipes
sometimes handed
down for generations
bring forth deep love
that can overtake
the senses in ways
to calm even most
cluttered soul allowing
peace on earth
good will to men

poem of the day December 1
Are dreams decorations?
Inner rooms within
Sublime canvases
of what is possible?
Are they guides able to see
what paint to paint on
the walls of turtle shells?
Are they part of the journey
illuminating the ordained path
whether remembered or not?
Or are they just sleep waves
that make no sense in this waking life?
