poem of the day October 28
After so many
so called
famous psychics
had all failed
in fortune telling
No one was left
to divine
the meaning
hidden within
the autumn leaves
that covered
the road in
all sorts of seemingly
consequential colors
Until an old New Englander
who happened to
be passing by
Walked through
the vivid patterns
over and over
making no sound
Until after a while
she announced to all
"Winter is coming!"

poem of the day October 10
The vein of violence
runs all the way
from the well of evil
Where loathing is fermented
each generation
as humanity see-saws
through the rapids
of revenge
This eye for an eye approach
has never solved anything
and leaves nothing
but cruel blindness
allowing little room
for anything but
perpetual hate

poem of the day October 7
Let me tell you
a flea market tale
of the wooden rooster
missing its tail
A rooster I knew
I would be
very lucky to sell
cause the big bird was
missing most of his
wooden end
but someone came by
and unbelievably bought it
for a couple of tens
After the sale
I did not think
of the rooster
without a tail
Till I saw the dealer
I bought it from
come running up
with the missing bun
to show everyone
Now I am telling you
about the sad tale
of the wooden rooster
that would always
forever be missing a tail

poem of the day October 4
I wonder what
the trees are thinking
as they lose leaves
in the autumn sun
Day after day
until they are naked
in a cold wind
with cold weather
that marches into solitude
Are they looking forward
to spending time
down in their roots
warm and happy
or are the trees
hunkering down
knowing the long
slog of winter
