poem of the day April 28
I'm seeing
love around
each mountain
with an April
by my side
Circling around
a maypole
looking for a bride
All the birds
are flirting
while building
lovely nests
as big raccoons
stare at
the moon
full of
lustly zest
I see the souls
of beast & men
inside big
open smiles
all looking for
a lover to
to make a
springtime child

poem of the day April 10
It was the day after
the solar eclipse
and I was on my way
to visit the hermit
with a mind
still full of
impressions about
the moon covered sun
The dark over light
How it affects the earth
when all of a sudden
I spotted a wandering
bewildered raccoon
walking along the railroad tracks
by the side of the road
Had it been abruptly awakened during the eclipse?
I was still thinking these thoughts
when I arrived at the hermit's house
anxious to talk about animals
and how they absorbed the art of all light

poem of the day April 8
The earth provides
the promenade
in which to watch
on this atom eve
the moon as it hides
the inner light
of our blazing sun
A solar eclipse.
to explore
an outer light
lost at times
like onion skin
peeled to find
the pearl within
but on this dark of day
on the blackened sky
the flickered aura
seldom seen
will cast the earth
in twilight dreams

poem of the day April 3
The old cat died
I knew he would
because he had
used up his last cat life
The big number 9
when I saved him
after the old cat
had slipped into
the toilet bowl
and could not get out
If I had been 10 seconds later
he would have drown
Intuitively knowing he
was on borrowed time
the old cat embraced
a most peaceful
wonderful happy death
After saving him
he stopped eating
then a few day later
the old cat
stopped drinking
but he never stopped loving
or being loved
All of us held him
to say goodbye
He was content, purring
till the very end
Spending his last
sunny afternoon
sunny himself
in the warm sun
I was the last
to see the old cat
still alive
When I went to bed
I rubbed his third eye
and told the old cat to
follow the light
He looked up at me knowingly
with his crossed eyes
The next morning
the soul of
the old cat was gone
but his body
left behind
had one giant smile
bigger than an old Cheshire cat
We buried him next
to the stone lion
where he loved to sun
rest in peace
Diego
the old cat
