I dreamed
I was a lobster
in a Hawaiian Restaurant
Sitting with
my cousins
in a tank that
was set upfront
We had all flown
in from Maine
just the night before
I was the
biggest of the lobsters
and weighed
as much as four
All day long they
pulled us
out of the tiny tank
until only three
were left with me
Our situation stank
The next day
they took my friends
and served them
in a stew
I knew it was
just a matter of time
before I joined them too
For two days
no one wanted me
until a man came in
from the west
He was suffering
from a syndrome
called illusive biasness
When he saw my size
the man shouted
“If he weights as much as me
on the moment I was born
I'll take him to the ocean
and give him a Hawaiian home”
They took me out
of the tank
and put me on the scale
8 pounds four ounces
Then came the primordial yell
Next thing I know
I was thrown into
the Sea
where I have
been living ever since
the good life in Hawaii
by a pure coincidence
