poem of the day September 24


At first
glance
the forest
seemed
perfect
Huge
towering
old
growth
trees
reaching
to
heaven
But when
one
got
close to
admire
the beauty
Invasive
vines
had
strangled
their hosts
with 
lush
green
canopies
that
were
wrapped
around
dying
branches
making
the
illusion
of
perfection
