poem of the day July 22

For a few minutes
just after dawn
the rising sun illuminates
the painting hung
on the long wall
The young boy
collecting sap
jumps to life
pouring buckets
into buckets
A smile brights
the dimples of his
19th century face
into a wonderment
for those lucky enough
to catch the fleeting moment
so frozen to time
