poem of the day December 21

If the knock
comes at a time
when the door is
wide open
the new is already in
the old has already left
It is the same
within the house of mind

poem of the day December 20

finding all
the depths
to reach
the sparkling cave
takes a
certain
calm to
drive within
the body of
another's soul

poem of the day December 19

Long eyes
far afar
Sometimes
unable to
say the truth
Not even
into wells
which use to be
the sacred
keepers of secrets
until the internet
intercepted
the love of God
to make
all things public

poem of the day December 18

It was the new craze
special jumping horses
Everybody
was riding them
Horses that could
fly while galloping
Here to there
There to here
Up the road
Down the road
The only barrier
the special horses
could not jump
was the fork
in the road
Unfortunately
that still depended
on the fate
of the ride

poem of the day December 17

Once again
waiting for
the light
The dark
seems very
strong
and deep
on this drizzling dawn
reminding me
that things
appear to stay the same
only minutes
before the change

poem of the day December 16

The wind gave
life to the leaves
They were having
a great time as
they danced around
like ballerinas
surrounding my car
like lemmings
jumping over the cliff
It had me thinking
there might
be more to life
then we think

poem of the day December 15

fast and slow
is the illusion
Time is
the same
for all
dress pressed
wheels
The only
difference
are the traveling roads
that all end in
different
fleeting futures

poem of the day December 14

hiding from
the bear
in the cabinet
next to
the cookie jar
or having the
bull deliver
fine china
to the lost rodeo
is just way
the hands
work
in the clock
of man

poem of the day December 13

The lobby of the hotel
served tea exactly at 3:00
At a table sitting next to me
were a couple of fleas
Well dressed
Well mannered
but full of disease
"We will ban everything
needed for people to see"
The one with the big hair
chuckled to me

poem of the day December 12

When things were
a dime a dozen
no one had to think
water was left running
long after you left the sink
It was great to drive for hours
and sit inside your car
it did not really matter
that you never traveled far
The height of fancy manners
was to leave food on the plate
cause no one wanted
to be thought of
as a man of second rate
But now that eggs cost a fortune
with water as expensive as gas
you have to think of the future
when drinking from the glass

poem of the day December 1

Why no?
Why yes?
Why the why?
A long walk
clears the sense
of expectation
The turtle
wins the long
race of circles
Not like
the shallow rabbit
who wins
only in the
square of fear
Thinking
of nothing but
wind
salt
worry
time
and the
look of
the everyday
angry face
that unsettles one
with the crying eye
Why no?
Why yes?
Why the why?

poem of the day December

What happens
when the driver
on the bus
runs out
of wheels?
Does he move
on back?
or whine
whine whine?
All I know
It is better to
run out of
wheels
then run out
of road

poem of the day December 9

So I walked
on the water
But sank
on the very
first step
I guess
I am not
related
to Jesus
but I'm glad
I'm related
to the rest
of us mess

poem of the day December 8

The search
became
one
of mountains
Trying to
find the valley
deep within
The disappointment after
days of climbing
Only to come back
empty
Not knowing
the valley
was always
there
A sacred floor
hidden
by the
very mountains
used for climbing

poem of the day December 7

The ritual
got lost
somewhere
inside the
ritual
No one
knew
exactly
when
But
pomp
and
circumstance
had replaced
true love
Now all we
have left
is
a very
fashionable
coat
which
looks good
yet smothers
the soul
into breeding
envy and hate

poem of the day December 6

If you
cross
plan
with
tan
then
you will
plant
something
very deep
to grow
throughout
the light
of life
without
the worry
of falling
down in
the rain
when the
sun don't shine

poem of the day December 5

Something about
sun on frost
A free moment
blinding sparkle
richer
then any
dizzy diamond
Able to melt
the soul
without desire
envy or toil

poem of the day December 4

TAKE care
care take
GIVE care
care give
MORE care
care more
LESS care
care less
LIFE care
care life
DEATH care
care death
WITH care
care with
GUN care
care gun
HATE care
care hate
NO care
care no
PEACE care
care peace
WITHOUT care
care without
LOVE care
care love
IN care
care in
HEART care
care heart

poem of the day December 3

The space
between
a rabbit's ear
is full of
every kind of fear
Some far
Some true
Some false
Some near
But always
in their mind
Poor dear

poem of the day December 2

The river ran
through the meadow
for centuries
Separating
here from there
Keeping yes
away from no
But then
a tree fell
over the
water
and landed
on the other side
All of a sudden
there was a bridge
Here and there
No and yes
were connected
and no longer
thought of the water
which was now forced
to do nothing
but be the river flow

poem of the day December 1

"How many dreams
are in the jar"
asked the nightwatchman
as he held up
the empty vessel
with a lid on
so tight it
was impossible
for any of
the  insomniacs
to see
