poem of the day October 31

The apples on the tree
look like the Milky Way
Stars on branches fluttering
in the cosmic wind
Rivers of nothingness
stir the memory of time
Round and round the circle wave
What a site for true believers
with a taste for Apple Pi

poem of the day October 30

In the womb of a soaking rain
Drips on a huddled brain
The wetness in full view
The wind chill full blown
Bone dark moments
Time sitting in side chairs
waiting for the future
The road of the rented movie
playing one thought at a time

poem of the day October 28

Learning anger from a bee
Learning fear from a deer
Learning jealously from a dog
All these emotions are dead cat logs
that see-saw hate within the vessel
Erupting like fire from nothing but
the unsettled rush of animals minds
sea born from the primordial womb
where boats float in lives of confusion
If only we boats could overcome this constant storm
to be as happy as a giving tree
I say let  all of us try to give love a chance
but then I heard from God who said
happiness might not be our destiny

poem of the day October 28

A window in a wall
give a view of what
lies on the other side
of the universe
but time still separates
inside from outside
It is not until the window
is open that one knows
whether it is a rainbow
or just the same old storm

poem of the day October 27

There is a light
born of every star
A unique pulse
of energy spattered
from space bubbles
so randomly perfect
I can only imagine
them being blown
by the breath of God

poem of the day October 26

All the effort spent on folly
trying to plug a universe
full of insecure vanity
The battle of delusion
is like a bad tattoo
that covers the soul
in pigments that wiggle
over the skin without
a true direction in which
to view the reality
as time passes into
the broken mirror

poem of the day October 25

I often wonder
on a day like today
when the fall morning
is full of a tropical mist
The air still and settled
by the long night wind
A carpet from another world
The breath it brings
from so far away
drifts over my hills
my valleys
into my  lungs
with a karma hidden
in the folds of flying wings

poem of the day October 24

The waking circle
up the dawn
divine clockwork
the tide between
opposite dreams
submarine streams
changing consciousness
like sparking night stars
feeding day-life back
into the vessel

poem of the day October 23

It was a proper copper hillside
on a bright October day
The sun was Indian Summer
with a very special ray
Rusty dreams far as one could see
the long light bending through
Illuminating the ridge of ancient oak
numbered in the few
The electric brown was magic
like a well sung serenade
time flooded down the mountain
in a bronze filled Autumn haze

poem of the day October 22

There was a value
given to everything
A primal want of wanting
visible, invisible
needed or not
A great bag of
of expanding desire
rising with each sin
I wish I had a silver
bed to lay upon my toil
and if you wanted it
more then me
you'd pay me with your soul

poem of the day October 21

There was some hate in love
There was some love in hate
and everybody wondered
which was a better fate?
To have some hate in love
To have some love in hate
It was a very simple answer
if you didn't answer late

poem of the day October 20

The light was mid October
Halloween leaves were flickering
on warm pumpkin winds
"Still Alive!" I heard the Crickets chanting
Summer dancing in the land of plenty
The fiddler was really good
They said his name was Jiminy

poem of the day October 19

It was a sudden fade
All over town
lobotomy factories
were rushing to open
turning humans into machines
It seemed most everybody wanted
what the machines had
a good job without
the hassle of life
Just a simple boring task
with no emotion required
no love or hate
to interfere with cosmic fate

poem of the day October 18

I was watching
morning frost melt
on the car windshield
into landscape paintings
that seemed to reflect
the many moods
that dot my world
reminding me of
fleeting beauty
as it hangs on each and every mountain

poem of the day October 17

There was water
all around
but you could not
drink a drop
The tide was
full of poison
from the waste
of ping pong trucks
Those busy little beavers
had damned up
all the drains
and the blisters on
the little hands
of orange man
had caused
this world of pain

poem of the day October 16

Down on the docks
of the East River
A very strange place
on the Queen's side
gazing at Manhattan
talking to the fishermen
who line the wharf
with rods and reels
Serious men and women
baiting hooks of anticipation
I was fresh from the country
with my sidekick Wes
Hoping to see some action
but the fish were ignoring
the temptations of man
Still it was grand
to be on the promenade
of a lovely afternoon

poem of the day October 15

I feel like a bird
as i look out
the hotel window
high up on the perch
of my hotel
I am fluttering with wings
full of currents generated
from the land below
I see the whole
tired city open
to the morning life
glad i am soaring
above the drama
of Yonkers's karma

poem of the day October 14

So where is where
we never spoke
of course it's hidden
must be enforced
Where they feed you
is what you are
the thoughts run stale
out of the cookie jar
Yet if the taste
should still be full
of yes been no
Then there is nowhere
where can go

poem of the day October 13

How many hands
have hugged the tree
that stands alone
so majestically
Was it planted by
the hand of man
or a man made God
from illusion land
That does not matter
very much to me
as my struggling arms
surround the tree
I want to feel the earth well
energy of the stable root
I want to be the old tree's fruit

poem of the day October 12

How many drops
are enough for
a swig of water
that can quench the thirst
of a water-less soul?
Is it more of less?
Is it less of more?
Does it matter if
you win the war
Does it matter if
you war the win?
I think it depends on the
thirst you're in

poem of the day October 11

Forsythia blooming
in October is an
interesting sight
It merges with
dying leaves of yellow
to add some spring like life
In the death of tired summer
beautiful flowers in the middle
of bittersweet decay
is a very very happy place
for me to start the day

poem of the day October 10

Drifting away
from simple reality
into a reality show
where one is
forced to pick
sides in a game
of ping pong
that is being
played with
a loaded ball
made of nothing
but egotistical hate

poem of the day October 9

A water day Monday
rain keeping the sun at bay
I am here awakening
drifting somewhere under the sea
The air is very sleepy and still
The fall colors glisten with thick wet glaze
like icing on a moist autumn cake

poem of the day October 8

"Survival depends
on the angle of the eyes"
said the fish underwater
to the fly in the sky
"My survival depends
only on flying high" said the fly
whose eyes were open wide
"With the angle of the eyes
I know you where you hide"
said the fish who bubbled the air outside
"Yes but I can survive so well
if I hide high" said the fly
as it hovered  in the sky
It was then the fish leaped out
with open eyes to surprise
the fly with an angler's eye

poem of the day October 7

I just heard
the news as
I was running toward
the Mulberry Bush
It turns out
the monkey
we all carry
on our backs
is just a refection
of how we have lived
around the organ grinder

poem of the day October 6

The squirrels were
playing chicken
as they dart
across the road
An obstacle course
of madness
littering their way
A carpet of
Red White and Grey
It reminded me of
Addictions
Obsessions
The lure of the flame
in the race to nowhere
I felt their emotion
well up into me
tails raise in the excitement
of trying to cross the road

poem of the day October 5

Eating the last
of summer fruit
in the warm safe light
of a beautiful day
Late peaches
Raspberries
Blueberries
Apples abound
All around
I am reminded
by the cornucopia
of abundant life
free for all beings
as a walk with thoughts
chained to the horrors of man

poem of the day October 4

I was lingering
at the crossroad
when I came
upon the crow
It was blacker then
the darkest knight
and dressed from
head to toe
in robes of insanty
full of forbidden stitch
I thought Oh My
I am going to die
if I don't choose
which way and quick

poem of the day October 3

The day reminded me
of Indian Summer
Perfect and warm
as only Fall can be
Yet I know it was not so
cause summer had not ended
The frost has not arrived
to kill the meadow grass
the food of butterflies

poem of the day October 2

How did the dew
get on  the meadow grass?
I'd like to know
It seemed only
a foggy dream
as i looked over
the same field
that just yesterday
had been full
of Autumn sunshine
Was it night tears
Night sweats
A random God
or Nature's best?

poem of the day October 1

Everyone gets to decide
what they wish for
It takes no money
and is based on fantasy
life's hopes and desire
The outcome of course
depends on cosmic luck
and sometimes your own actions
So be very careful
when throwing secrets
down the magic well
