poem of the day January 5

The ancient door
of the grand hall
hung well on
its worn hinges
Swinging open
Swinging closed
Forever watching
as generations
passed through
its thick two inch
slab of solid wood
Yet after many
years of swinging
the door was never
able to understand
the true meaning of in and out
