poem of the day May 31

Pebbles thrown
into the everlasting well
Mirror reflections of
each circle cast
Deep vibrations
spiral through
like big waves
Separated by ripples
of the same water
I just marvel at how
effortlessly life proceeds

 poem of the day

Gathered near
the New England
monkey trail
was a fine memorial
A celebration of a man
on a hill filled with souls
Many words were said
with lots of love
and I was moved by
the crowd who sang
together at the end
a song written
just for him
with the most beautiful words
Water pouring water
into water...
Water pouring water
into water...

poem of the day May 29

Finding clarity
Your true soul
within yourself
without stumbling
into clouded waters
is to understand
the grand you
is always there
hiding in plain sight

poem of the day May 28

The need
for all
to be included
is part of
the human
experience
No one want
to be alone
Yet in this
new environment
of promoted hate
Of us against them
These selfish
self important
manipulators of tribes
do not allow
ideas to mix
Do not permit
common ground
Allowing good souls
to slowly be turned into
ignorant armies of
lonely frightened enemies

poem of the day May 27

Bumble Bees
sipping hour
tip their wings
flower to flower
Dogs have treed
a flying squirrel
somewhere high
on Walter's wheel

poem of the day May 26

Timeland
A place
to live
for eternity
A time zone
void of boundaries
Where new faces
remember all lives
once visited

poem of the day May 25

Sometimes
a slow sad
drifting dawn
After another
senseless
massacre
of innocent
children
Creeps up
in ways only
understood
by the love
filled heart
of a peaceful
unarmed
anti gun soldier

poem of the day May 24

Followers of
false prophets
playing in
deep water
need to be very
wary of the abyss

poem of the day May 23

lightning
thunder
rain
yellow
green
leaves
Wind swimming
cold air
hot air
CLOSE STRIKE
thunder louder
air heavy
Shimer of leaves
twist into dusk

poem of the day May 22

Back again
dawn again
sound again
birds be birds
with song
like words

poem of the day May 21

The flea market opens
in a manner of hours
The anticipation grows
The long wait is over
I am a kid
on the eve
of fishing season
full of inner pleasure
excited for
first light
Hoping for luck
but I am not
fishing for fish
I am fishing for treasure
Treasure hiding in plain site

poem of the day May 20

A fine line
thrown over
an early rainbow
pulls the bow
back into places
seldom imagined
A fresh arrow shot
from the light quiver
pierces the impossible
letting go of the familiar
New tides push and pull
allowing a golden soul
to grow fruits only fertile
in an opened mind

poem of the day May 19

Long days walk
one after another
light and bouncy
even the big  trees
are moved
by their actions

poem of the day May 18

The difference
between formal
and informal
is no longer
the black and white
suits of yesterday
The superficial dressings
of long held rituals
have now slipped
into the realm of vague
A comfortable place
for those who struggle
in the land of commitment

poem of the day May 17

After the rain
After the wind
After the crisp night
The morning air has
transformed the dawn
The air floats clear
Allowing yesterday's light
bathed fresh by earthy waters
to open with a sunrise
worthy of a Golden Globe

poem of the day May 16

Spring Green
Early Green
Yellow Green
Fresh new Green
Green on Green
Every kind of
Sublime Green
Makes me wonder
What an old Evergreen
thinks of all this
New grown Green

poem of the day May 15

All those circles
are circling again
The moon was full
getting ready to send
A red wave from Yin-ville
loaded good at the dock
A progression of phases
like wheels on a clock

poem of the day May 14

Wishing for rain
in the dry dawn
of  morning
Don't see a cloud
anywhere is sight
What if the sun
dries all the clover?
What if the rain
gets burned
by the sun?
Where do we go
if we need
a new planet?
Where do we go
to buy a new one?

poem of the day May 13

A dystopian utopia
appeared in the
middle of paradise
I was surprised
how perfection
had become tainted
by too much perfection
turning heaven
into a dreamland hell

poem of the day May 12

Study the sun
as it moves
within a room
Follow the light
and one will
discover strange
illuminating rays
A fountain of
silver slivers
blazing bright
like a movie
full of luster light

poem of the day May 11

A bluebird
darts across
a roadside
Pressing good
fortune with
a few lucky travelers
flying their way

poem of the day May 10

Journeys
far and wide
close and narrow
begin with
a new step
a first breath
one after another
until fresh footprints
point the way
for life to follow

poem of the day May 9

Do legacy plants have a right
to be part of the landscape?
Part of a homestead yard?
This rag tag inherited
collection of Plants
handed down
through families
Brought to new homes
generation after generation
are a bridge from the past
I have plants in my own family
passed down
from property to property
from father to son
since long before the civil war
Pachysandra I can trace
back to Brooklyn 1840's
Forsythia  too and
Lilies of the the valley
came from Mineola where
Dead Nettle and Wild Onions
hitched rides and found
their way to me via Connecticut
They are part of my journey
but do I pass these plants on
to the next family home
knowing all are invasive
to various degrees?

poem of the day May 8

The air on this
Mother's Day
is full of flowers
A drift of perfume
washes over
Mother Earth
gentle reminding
the world of the
magic scent of
unconditional love
found only in warm wombs

poem of the day May 7

The tide
all tied
in a round
like bow
Nowhere
to hide
Nowhere
to go
Its watery reach
circles the beach
So wet and full
these waves
do break
along the shore
just a drop it takes

poem of the day May 6

For what makes
the day rise
makes the sunset
Is a great miracle
even for miracles

poem of the day May 5 Buds Buds

Buds Buds
Billion Buds
All pointing
everywhere
Erect proud
Swelling Swelling
waiting waiting
heavy anticipation
Spring Spring
Wing Ding
Open Open
everything

poem of the day May 4

The intimacy
of you and
your screen
The movie of
you watching you
is mingled with
your thoughts
and  ever evolving suggestions
leading you far from shore
where you float euphoric
by the beach
in seas of bliss
drifting off to sleep
only to  wake up to find
you are now in a very
different kind of see

poem of the day May 3

Falling rain
Water dripping
Spring feeding
New life
seeping
everywhere
including
old tires
discarded
along the road
It's a miracle
of reincarnation
born of god
Very romantic
until the buzz
of the mosquito
attempts its sting

poem of the day May 2

A crimson light
washes eastern trees
with a peaceful  calm
in a gentle breeze
A band of birds
are out and about
As houseplants watch
from their window tops
I can tell they long
by the way they seem
their light streaked leaves
wishing outside dreams

poem of the day May 1

Charting course
within change
depends on
the water in the river
Staying the course
depends on the
banks of the river
For those who ride
these rolling tides
no boat is needed
