poem of the day Octgober 31

Looking up at the sky
puffy fog around the stars
millions of big open eyes
stare down from the night
like gods peeking into souls

poem of the day October 30

If there are two
green fields
side by side
separated by a fence
and you were
a starving cow
falling off the fence
would it matter
which side had
the greener grass?

poem of the day October 29

First light of Sun
arrived before the stars
had left the night
Dawn's early eye appeared
to open the horizon
as it gathered strength
The Milkyway was pushed
into the westward sky
where it clung to all its stars
I watched them  faded one by one
until all I saw was Mars

poem of the day October 28 A stone buddha

A stone buddha
smiling on a warm day
makes everything
seem happier
more enlightened
from the grasshopper
resting on buddha's shoulder
to a swirl of leaves blowing above
But I wonder if this blissful feeling
This extra warm attitude of enlightenment
Heart felt on a perfect day will change
the smile on the buddha's face
after many months sitting
within the cold of wintertime

poem of the day October 27

After a flock of frost
the brown and grey
has merged the green
The leaves are mostly
gone from trees
Some suspended
on tall grass
look like butterflies
caught in time
The wind reminds
with  leafless gusts
slow and steady
on South East hill

poem of the day October 26

The hateful world
of black and white
on the planet of extremes
fueled by the small minded
disaster of only
Yes or No
Right or Wrong
Simple for some
Painful for others
Wrong for the world of love

poem of the day October 25

A white birch enjoying
a rainy autumn afternoon
appeared as if
it were a giant crane
full of yellow wings
and long white legs
as it contemplated
the wonderful drizzling light
of the frog lit pond

poem of the day October 24

Copper leaves
on giant oaks
seem to reach
out and touch
both mind and sky

poem of the day October 23

Some trees
seem to relish
the color of their leaves
and hang on to them
more dearly than nearby friends
who have already bared their branches
Now standing naked as autumn advances
Perhaps my observations of trees are just manmade
like oranges turned into something marmalade

poem of the day October 22

Escaping away
the ropes have
been thrown to shore
The ship moves
along the pier
settled within
the starboard stern
Somewhere on deck
a lone sailor having miraculously
survived life on the perilous sea
lets out a primordial scream
"Now only three bells away from hell"

poem of the day October 21

Inflation
is a wave
of the pendulum
back to painful frugality
It is the master
of all economic ships
It does not matter
who is in charge
of the economy
Just ask the
bloody English
whose MAGA  like
conservative  government
failed because gas and food
prices are too high
and their solution
of huge tax cuts
for the wealthy
forced the country's collapse
I hope America takes
this as a lesson
in their elections
Understanding the tide of
inflation does not care
which ship it tosses into the sea
The real question of this election is:
Do you want Fascism
or do you want Democracy?

poem of the day October 20

Time moves along
each and everyday
whether you're
conscious or not
The idea of time
passing through
attended or unattended
is not of any concern
to the ever changing present

poem of the day October 19 Embracing the night

Embracing the night
of would be dreams
Eyes flutter like
a curtain call
The mind explores
the submarine world
Deeper, Deeper into the twirl

poem of the day October 18

The state of wet
The state of dry
took a journey
on a carpet ride
The bottom was wet
The top was dry
until they tumbled
over rainy skies
Then water covered
everything dry
And all was wet
for awhile oh my

poem of the day October 17

From Shantigar
to Clara ridge
the trail wove deep
somewhere inside
a protected
New England
countryside
Where a dragon's back
fueled by simple gaits
walked Warner Hill with many legs
Whose collective head
of a landed trust
would eventually find
in an autumn golden vernal pond
the open love of Sargent arms

poem of the day October 16

Autumn driving
and the art of reading
road leaves
as they cover
the blacktop
like tea leaves
in all kinds of colorfilled
seemingly random patterns
that foretell the future
for those souls able
to drive and divine
at the same time

poem of the day October 15

Few leaves
on the maple trees
Grass a beautiful green
Burning bush with a purple hue
so amazing
i am going to cut it
some slack for being
an invasive species
Great light today
made more expansive
by farm fall colors
Colors sweet Colors

poem of the day October 14

October rain
a simple sound
drops falling
all around
The peace of time
as dawn emerged
wet and soulful
in a soaking world
The mindless patter
voice of rain
drips to ground
without a name

poem of the day October 13

I was in total
bugsville
ladybugs
grasshoppers
crickets
wasps
flies
ants
bees
and an
occasional
butterfly
All of us
were enjoying
the warm
October day
Flying  high
around the catwalk

poem of the day October 12

Another circle
of many circles
The constant
round and round
of imperfect perfection
Each new wobble is
a fresh start of time
The only difference
new souls of mind

poem of the day October 11 Dark so early

Dark so early
Light arrives late
Time dwindling down
the dim lit tunnel
Pushing a falling sun
into growing
Shorter days
Longer nights
till the angels
switch the angles
with or without
the help of god

poem of the day October 10

A bucket
with a hole
Even one with
a giant leak
is better than
no bucket at all
Just ask a withered plant
dying of thirst
If it care if things are
less than perfect

poem of the day October 9

After the sun has
set on the horizon
Night eventually becomes
nothing but one giant shadow
Except for when the moon is full
then the light reflects over the moon
and everything that follows is a moonshadow

poem of the day October 8

Pressure pereates
in and out of all things
past, present, future
but if unsettled pressure
Unstable pressure
is allowed to grow
Allowed to fester
it will be impossible to contain
and will blow things up
no matter how
strong the vessel
Especially if it
dwells inside
the emotional temple
fueled by thoughts
of branded delusion

poem of the day October 7

A spiral wind
of color coats
moving quick
from tree to tree
Inside out
Outside in
Somehow the dawn
lights every branch

poem of the day October 6

Yellow leaves
have swarmed
like bees
clinging to
the sides of trees
This mellow cover
will only last
a little while
in the hourglass

poem of the day Octomber 5

Hands can
be folded
into hearts
so perfectly
Effortlessly
allowing
the energy
of suggestion
to make
the world
a happier place
Especially
if love radiates
from deep inside
the inner soul of
happy for no reason

poem of the day October 4

The greed of gold
The greed of money
brings war not peace
to the land of honey

poem of the day October 3

An old hosre
always remembers
the way to the old barn
having spent a lifetime
coming and going
forging a familiar path
worn deep by nothing but time

poem of the day October 2 Point of view

Point of view
Point of order
the tonal dots
of all landscapes
appear like swarms
on canvases stretched
by a million dots coming
out of single pointed minds

poem of the day October 1

The sun's
a little lower
The dusk is
a little longer
Autumn light hides
behind the Western Hills
