poem of the day January 3
The giving river
attempts to tame
water forever within
its ragged lips
The flow inside
its grooved funnel
slides down
seemingly
very bounded
by rocky edges
Yet unlike
all fish forever
swimming
bank to bank
over a lifetime
The water of a river
has no limits
no master
and is free
at any moment
to overflow the wall
with its effortless eternity
