poem of the day June 30

Thick heavy
cold moist dew
blanket covers
fresh mowed
meadow grass
Birds jump around
trying to warm
chilled tiny feet
eagerly waiting for
warm strong sun

poem of the day June 29

Very naked dogs
dating well dressed cats
went to the ballet
starring dancing rats
The rats were playing
the parts of hungry mice
requiring the rats
to eat special river rice
It should have been
a lovely grand affair
One talked about
from everywhere
But then the cats
all noticed the rats
were not wearing
proper eating hats
This of course
enraged the well dressed cats
who began to chase the hatless rats
This put everyone including me
into a confusionary fog
knowing the well dressed cats
were dating very naked dogs

poem of the day June 28

No sense
in feeling bad
about it
It is just
a roadkill fact
Some chipmunks
make it across
the road
Some chipmunks don't
It's as simple as that

poem of the day June 27

Circles
of stillness
slowly calm
a busy mind
revolving around
oceans of thought
Waves of dusky light
move toward night
Each spiral gently
dissolving the day
allowing the drift
into peaceful sleep

Poem of the day June 26

A narcissistic sun
watching
its own sunrise
was so engrossed
with  self glorification
It did not noticed
the earth had
clouded over
so as to not
have to feel the hot air

poem of the day June 25

Time changes
all landscapes
inside outside
Unwanted plantings arrive
on wings of windy birds
flying near flightness men
Invasives sneak silently
into pristine gardens
hiding in plain site
Where if not weeded
eventually overtake soiled minds
with overgrown patches of cartoon thoughts
sometimes too big to overcome

poem of the day June 24

Still and hot
Few birds about
Sun baking a poor potted plant
in danger of dying
I catch its desperation
and bring it water
We both take a sip
Joined together
feeling a slight breeze
coming from
slow motion
swaying leaves
fanning the trunks of
all of us trees

poem of the day June 23

I wonder
if a fox
has ever
worn a pair
of foxglove slippers
while hunting rodents
within the rhododendron?

poem of the day June 22 bombs of war

bombs of war
rain over peace
foreign & domestic
madmen in charge

things happen in 3s

poem of the day June 19

Where do
we all sit on
the spectrum?
The inner outer light
found within all kinds
of solar systems
Are we
Smart monkeys
Dumb AI?
Does it matter
as long as
what I eat
what you eat
doesn't make
each other madder

poem of the day June 18

The collection
at the abyss
of a mind is
the place where
everything settles
into memories
that bubble
up from the well
Where the weight
of life sits
either as
an anchor
or an albatross

poem of the day June 17

Everything
was moving
so quickly
Extra precise
timing and agility
were needed
to survive
the insanity
Even Jack B Nimble
was having
a hard time
jumping over
the ever moving
candle dick

poem of the day June 16

Sunrise
The combination
of light & life
can be seen each morning
in the  eyes of an I
But what  each I sees
will depend on
the whether conditions
of sun and soul

poem of the day June 15

A great
hopeful sign
of the times
is when a shy
army of introverts
are driven out
of their lives
to protest
a cruel want-to-be king
trying to unravel
American democracy

poem of the day June 13

the boat
carrying
the constitution
capsized
on dry land
leaving those
not loyal enough
stunned by
the amount
of great white sharks
swimming about
eager to eat
the life out of
all who protest injustice

poem of the day June 12

The very
interesting
all inclusive
happy sport
of dream flying
was sweeping
across all divides
A sport
Where it does
not matter
if one is
male or female
black or white
big or small
sick or well
All that matters
is a desire
to be free
of the prejudices
of humanity
A place to fly
where all are we

poem of the day June 11

Fire & Water
long time opposites
have mixed together
Temporarily putting
long held differences aside
In fact I can now report
Sun and Rain are
spending vast quantities
of quality time
joined as friends
instead of enemies
Both of them doing theirs parts
to help summer gardens grow

poem of the day June 10

The merging
of reality
with fantasy
has permeated
way beyond
self absorbed delusion
has morphed into
a comic book
full of cartoon characters
playing a dangerous video game
that somehow has
gone viral and threatens
life as we know it
soon all minds
will be owned
controlled by machines
of our own making

poem of the day June 8

Each day
We are slipping
back into
the dark past of
ugly humanity
with utter lack
of understanding
of the future
or anything
except the greed
of personal gain
This new hatred
is the mark
of a failed nation
Accepting the will
of a mad man
with low morality
and high cruelty
should be unacceptable
even to those who
were duped or scared
into being
true believers
Wake up America
before it is too late
for history
not to repeat itself

poem of the day June 8

bluebirds
of fortune
fly into
apple trees
looking for
ways to press
the moment

poem of the day June 7

Damp
aftermath
of wet
Pea soup
clings over
pushed down
meadow grass
Thick cloudy
floating leaves
hover in silence
Birds swim past
like sailboats
after a storm
All are waiting
for more rain

poem of the day June 6

Omniscient stillness
Dawn takes root
in mind & matter
Slow motion birds
drift over green oceans
under canopies
of big sleeping trees
Morning light slowly seeps
overcoming night shadows
Even the sound
of a buzzing house fly
has been muted
by hallowed ground

poem of the day June 5

Who wants
to be a bubble
in a bubble grove
Where big beautiful
bubbles grow out
of magic wands
held effortlessly
by those willing
to be as free as
flying balloons
navigating the air of life

poem of the day June 4

so many
earthworms
feasting on cow shit
Adam & Eve had
placed on virgin plants
growing in the garden of eden
were having a grand time
enjoying the innocence of life
until the early birds came
and ate them all

poem of the day June 3

The inner door
The gate placed
to separate
mask from soul
We all have one
Some have doors
mostly open
Some have doors
mostly closed
When you look
at your eyes
in the mirror
Do you see
who you are?
Or what you
pretend to be?

poem of the day June 2

I wonder
if eye witnesses
all watching
the magic of
the same sunrise
see the light
in the same way?

poem of the day June 1

what if it
was not
light at
the end
of tunnel
but was dark
would you
still be able
to see
your way
into a new life?
