time
of the
year
The flannel
shirted
New England
Yankee
farmers
are out
tapping
the sugar
maples
and it
occurred
to me
how
some
things
have
changed
And
some
things
have
not
The
farmers
were
still
rugged
independent
iron
mountain
men
out
tapping
the sugar
maples
in the
early
spring
but
instead
of using
a bit brace
and buckets
They were
armed
with
electric
drills
and
pipe line
Have
to say it
takes
some
of the
quintessential
romance
out of
the
Maple
syrup
