poem of the day March 10

Spring comes
a day at a time
Winter thoughts
laced by long
cold stillness
melt with anticipation
The new sounds
of old birds
fly over the
landscape
like trumpets
at the gate
Warm mixes
into all
ruby red hearts
"All aboard"
I hear the birds sing
as the world looks
east toward the bright eye
of the warming sun
