poem of the day October 31

When air comes
from far away
it brings new tides
that break over familiar rocks
with a different wind
from a different direction
able to change old patterns
into new ideas
It all depends on how you
stand in the sand

poem of the day October 30

Permanent
is how the candle
looked as the
flame flickered out
over seeds of salvation
waiting within
the rim of sorrow
At the moment
the sad line was longer
then the circle of life
that had become
frozen to a moment of memories
Bundled so deep together
the communal  pressure
finally opened into the heat of love
sprouting flames of hope
able to light the candle of healing

poem of the day October 29

Somber leaves
Crying snow
Still sadness
wet with tears
makes the grey sky
internal with
thoughts that
can not change
the happen of
the silent clap

poem of the day October 28

The first dust of winter
filled with white
killed the power
in the night
I'm glad to say
while I was
dreaming of
past lives
swimming in
tropical seas
some kind soul
fixed the lights for me

poem of the day October 27

The sun can not shine
if it has a dark heart
It can only burn those
that get too close
to the heat

poem of the day October 26

Gold diggers
were clamming
at low tide
with fake rakes
Catching pearls
hiding inside old men
in need of pills
All knew the game was fixed
The smart money was not on
the white caged unicorn
unaware of the trap
There the greed of fate
raced by puritanical reins
confused the truth
for what life is worth

poem of the day October 25

Connectivity
was very low
Preoccupation
had clogged
all paths of light
The elephants had
taken over the road
and were waiting
at the fork where
ten thousand pound canaries
full of clipped wings
gave out bad advise
to passing gorillas
dressed nice for boredom
Above them all was
the weathered sign
on the ancient hanging tree
"What happens next
depends on the
strength of two dreams"

poem of the day October 24

I watch the wave
of a windy tree
silhouette handshakes
just for me
On a grey dawn sky
the forest shudders
with the blustery gale
fresh air north and west
Undulating for the sun
as it climbs the ridge
to sway the light
through bowing branch bridge

poem of the day October 23

Windy leaves
knocked down
by cold lash rain
fill country hills
with windy dancers
performing the last waltz
of a summer season
now slipping into the
solitude of darker days

poem of the day October 22

Who is the I of eye I am?
What sees the eye I become?
From universal sea I am open eyed
looking from I to eye
to where I see the eye of me
reflecting eyes of humanity

poem of the day October 21

"Of course there are no rules"
Time said to Present
as they met at the edge
of Past
"What is there then?" Present asked Time
as wind dreams blew past into Future
"There is only the fleeting moment where rules
become the wiggle of the waggle"
"Wiggle of the waggle?"
"Yes, the unbounded bounded dance of now"

poem of the day October 20

One seed grows
from a discarded pile
centuries away from liberty
How this kernel floated
through dystopia and
found life on the wasted
thoughts of proud bones
was the question asked
by those gathered around ivory towers
built on the foundation
of personal greed

poem of the day October 19

I am looking for the perfect tree
full of color that touches me
It might be oak
It might be maple
It might be red
It might purple
but most of all
I am looking
for a tree to open in me
the rainbow hues of harmony

poem of the day October 18

Long drapes covering
open windows
block all light
from entering the temple
The man made shades catch
everything including
the air of the sage
trying to seep around the candle
having traveled
miles from the big lake
to make a house to call home

poem of the day October 17

Stone Indians
stand by a river
lined with wooden nickles
passed off as pickles
Their thick glazed
canoes drift by
karma breath elephants
well past the walls of December
Where they are joined to the other team
somewhere within a gene

poem of the day October 16

The full night light
was lighter then the dawn
Huge ball of imagination
casting shadows across
fall trees bursting with colors
I am reminded of perfection
Such a wonderful stew
for those traveling the moon ride

poem of the day October 15

How much is you?
How much is me?
Give and take of destiny
Are you part tango?
Full metal mango?
A  flow of energy
to be seen
within dreams?
Or just mirage
growing out of a garage
depends on if you run
with the idea of two
or the idea of one

poem of the day October 14

There was no wind
only the stillness
that sank into hearts
already gathered
to watched the dawn
turn to day
The silent vigil was lost
on those still sleeping
their lives away

poem of the day October 13

Every second
of everyday
hearts beat
within temples
born of nothing
but star dust
traveling the Milky Way
Opening and closing
fragile souls
appear and disappear
with the pulse of this primordial present
one breath at a time

poem of the day October 12

To where
does one disappear
in the jungle full of fear?
Perhaps wandering in judgment
pushed by other hearts
Broken mirrors
of frozen glass that
can't reflect every speck
Busy lives far away
unable to control
emotions that should be
free with easy wings
Flapping like eager fire flies across
the sky of eternity
Lost in the intensity
of dreams
born within the muddy tide
Strong waves covering homes
lined with thoughts
traveling from soul into soul
until you appear fresh from the fear

poem of the day October 11

Cold air
Half moon
Silent night
Leaves at full peak
All on the eve
of a killing frost
I hope the fragile flowers
enjoy the marvelous beauty
of this sacred moment
before their journey
to another world

poem of the day October 10

The cord connects
but does not carry
The dreams are formed
somewhere between
the Womb and the Milky Way
Stars full of wishes
rush up and down
like heavy fairy dust
on a dry prairie
where old horses tied
to fate pass the water
without drinking even a sip
Clogging most souls with the fear
of losing the tree born of nothing

poem of the day October 9

Getting up for the market
is an early endeavor
in the treasure hunt for more
You have to get there
at the crack of dawn
Otherwise you lose
"It is a disease" shouted one dealer
who woke up late
very angry that
the hungry birds had
already eaten
all the golden worms

poem of the day October 8

Some said the old train
had pulled into the station
with a new ticket
But all I saw was
life walking in the rain
toward the same tired refrains
Toward pattern dreams forming
deep within the insane
From sea to shining bee
trying to catch fresh fish
swimming the boundaries
of you and me

poem of the day October 7

Color on the trees
makes me think
of change
Superficial change
So natural and tame
How color is just
skin deep
Green becomes red
Yellow emerges
from certain branches
The whole forest
is a harmonious blend
of all colors
Except for black and white
that continue to fight

Poem of the day October 6

Another day closer
A degree colder
on the long dark march
toward Winter
So many things to bring
Heat, happiness, health
good tools to make the hike
a cake walk through the slippery icy slope
Aways remember when playing
the game on the edge of darkness
you must bring your inner light

poem of the day October 5

Long time at practice
The stands stacked with hymns
Ideas bouncing off walls
I hear the golden palace is
really made of gold
Inner gold
Gold you have
Gold I have
Not the shinny
coins of greed
branded with temptation
but inner gold
just waiting
to be discovered
by the living light of life

poem of the day October 4

The Ocean Liner
was of no use
out of water
and to everyone
seemed silly
sitting in the yard
of the hoarder
But that was before
it rained for forty days
Then the sure folly turned to jolly

poem of the day October 3

A vine grows
without conviction
selfishly using
needing others for support
A friend or foe?
Poison ivy
laced with nirvana grapes
climbs and clings
to the root of a soul
The tug of sin
always creeping
over dreams that try to
poke through the suffocation
gasping for the space
to be a tree

poem of the day October 2

The cold fog drizzles
enough to fizzle
the bright light
flying over
self help gardens
Myself
Yourself
All souls on the same shelf
freezing with thoughts
that unfortunately
sometimes need
the heat of hell
to melt the delusion
of not knowing
when life is hanging
ovwe the sharp edge
of the half shell

poem of the day October 1

Up a mountain
Down a mountain
The ride from low to high
The slide from high to low
Holding a bag full of gravity
like a bellows breath
The hot fire of an erupting volcano
The cold rush of falling water dreams
All within the stable pyramid
resting above the land
looking so grand
with rings on the nipples
and toes on the hand
