A laugh floated
over the frozen pond
light and airily
into the stuck sides
of beaten down shores
Sand waiting for another war
The laugh was contagious
The waters began to melt
the long formed ice
until the laugh was shot down
by waves misunderstanding
the idea of understanding laughter
