poem of the day September 3

I saw the joy in
a white tailed deer
as she galloped
the meadow near
She was with her friends
and a couple of fawns
frolicking in the morning dawn
but when they saw me
drive up the early road
they bolted away in practiced fear

such is the life of white tailed deer
