poem of the day August 19

Night settles into

the vast sky
like a tide
with no waves
Dark starts in the shadows
Then grows stealthy over
long open meadows
The blackness eventually
becomes omnipresent
until a thin light ribbon
of distant stars
appears as dots of yang
on the deep skin of yin
