poem of the day June 14 

What if Native Americans

had climbed into their canoes

to paddle across the Atlantic

in search of a new way

to get to the Spice Islands?

And when they had finally

landed on the continent of  Europe

thinking they were in the South Seas

Would they have called the savages 

they encountered Indians?
