poem of the day August 10

In the beginning
two bridges to
two islands
from one mainland
brought two colors
to each island
One color was black
One color was white
Out of nowhere
a big wave
washed both
bridges away
and the two islands
were separated
After many years
the bridges
were rebuilt
When the mainland
finally arrived
they found
two different worlds
One island had
mixed the two colors
so there was only
one color
One island had not
mixed colors
and was still
black and white
On the mixed island
everyone was happy
On the black & white island
everyone was not
