poem of the day May 25 

As the official start

of summer season

Memorial day

began in 1868

as a remembrance

of all those who gave

their lives for an America

in turmoil after the civil war

a good way to honorably

heal a divided nation

but now in a land where virtue

is being overrun by cruelty and greed

all past healing has been repealed

and replaced by petty division until further notice
