poem of the day August 21
In the corner
of an airport
While waiting
for a flight
to arrive
I began watching
the arrivals
Studying first greetings
Everything from
very exuberant
lovers who loved
each other
To married haters who
secretly hated each other
To sad single travelers who
had no one to greet them
I thought of the arrival gate
as a big melting
door of life
Finally joining in as
an eager greeter
greeting my family
arriving from Thailand
