poem of the day January 29
What color
would you be
to be free
to climb a tree?
Would you
play it safe
be leafy green
maybe mellow yellow
like a submarine?
Would you
be willing
to be Brown
climb up the trunk
only to be
thrown down
to the ground
by a wild gang
of angry thugs
firing live slugs?
Would you
be Black
always to be
attacked
by some
cartoon dudes
in masks and hats?
Or would you
be lily White
armed to the teeth
with a cowardly might
alone in the Whitehouse
devoid of all light?

poem of the day January 18
True love
has become
so rare
so desired
so monetized
It is now collected
and treated as trophies
So no wonder
with so many
people using love
as an investment
Many are willing to pay
staggering amounts
for the perfect love
Making true love so valuable
it is mostly
place on shelves
high on pedestals
separated, unrequited
sitting all by itself
And now with
so many AI fake loves
on the market
It is virtually impossible
to tell real love from fake love
especially when most
real love stuck alone
on a shelf with only itself

poem of the day January 14
Of course
with so many
out of their mind
Earthlings living
like they are
Zombies in
outer space
there has to be
a group
right now
fantasizing
about sitting
on lunar chairs
sipping cocktails
watching the earthrise
illuminate the moon
Getting ready to start
leaping and hopping
on Earthshadows
Earthshadows, Earthshadows....

poem of the day January 11
Everyone knew
the yellow
brick road
was only
make believe
fools good
but that did
not stop
the glittering pander
coming non-stop
from the mouth
of the conman
spread by his army
of greedy henchmen
who were able
to convince
the frightened masses
they had to believe
all fantastical fairy tales
coming from the lips of Oz

poem of the day January 9
If you were
a rocket ship
how many
skins would
you shed
on the way
to outer space
And once you got
to the last dance
just before reaching
the border of life & death
would you plow through
the karma of the karman line
clicking magic red slippers while
sipping fresh light inside a new blue dress?

poem of the day January 5
My advise
to men & mice
in the ice
is don't entice
little lice
into a vise
Join a band
get a tan
wave a fan
in the sand
if you can
avoid the man
then take flight
into some light
do it right
not too bright
keep outta site
eat apple bites
Then you'll feel
like a seal
so surreal
eating peels
on the wheel
of nothing real

poem of the day January 1
The old
is just
a memory
The new
only a dream
Last year
has run out
of the hourglass
to spill into
the moment
A place where
Ending
and
Beginning
meet for
their first dance
Somewhere
within the river
of continuance
which flows over
the same rocks
without any thoughts
of stopping
the manmade fireworks
found all around
