What color

would you be

to be free

to climb a tree?

Would you 

play it safe

be leafy green

maybe mellow yellow

like a submarine?

Would you 

be willing

to be Brown

climb up the trunk

only to be 

thrown down

to the ground

by a wild gang

of angry thugs

firing live slugs?

Would you

be Black

always to be 

attacked

by some

cartoon dudes

in masks and hats?

Or would you 

be lily White 

armed to the teeth

with a cowardly might 

alone in the Whitehouse

devoid of all light?
