poem of the day November 19

Doing and
pretending
are worlds apart
though they
live in the same
shell
All are part of the same tree
It is the difference
between failure
and success
Pretending
is a matter of vanity
springing out
of peer pressure
Out of political correctness
but a futile waste
of un-rooted effort
Doing is from the core
deep in the bones
with conviction
Knowing when to act
is the key
Yet it always amazes me
The pretender
is mostly lauded
for their effort
While the doer is branded
as a lazy lucky crazy
