poem of the day April 17
"This is the race
of all races!"
shouted life's dove.
"Speed of light
versus
Eternal love".
Love burst out first
but did not last
it had to turn back
from desire's thorned path
allowing bright Light
to leap and bound
so by late afternoon
Light was way out of town
But just when it looked
like the winner was Light
the day turned to dusk
then dark into night
There Light could not see
and stumbled around
as Love roared back
with a passionate bound
When dawn finally came
light had run out of steam
and love was asleep
lost in a dream
