poem of the day June 30

Do you
ever think of
life as circles?
Do you
ever think of
the intersection
of those circles?
How and when
they met
other circles
like echos
rebounding
boomerangs
returning
Spiraling in
the milky way
of humanity
with so many
consciousnesses
merging together
Some for a lifetime
Others for only
a moment or two

poem of the day June 29

The evolution
between path
and road
can take
many years
to unfold
but each footprint
no matter
how small
or hard to see
adds volume
like a history
of travelers
telling travelers
who come
from far away
carrying the foundation
of human civilization
until over time
the path of old
becomes a road

poem of the day June 28

The morning rises
over summer leaves
that have taken on
a darker shade of green
Reflecting the sun
like strong sunglasses
making the trees
appear as movie stars

poem of the day June 27

The wonderer
got confused with
The wanderer
while they were
both standing together
dressed in the very
same fools clothing
all philosophers wear
when they wait
to climb the hill
that wanders
around wonders

poem of the day June 26

The art life
of style
works its way
from generation
to generation
like a spiral winding
round and round
Building on
each era
Victorian
Nouveau
Deco
Modernism
A line here
A curve there
evolving expanding
Designing itself
Fashioning itself
into new forms
growing organically
out of the past
Into more lines
Into more spirals
Into new styles

poem of the day June 25

I found myself
comfortable sitting in
an old leather chair
in the old movie theater
open since 1938
watching a new movie
on the big screen
wondering about
all those that sat before me

poem of the day June 24

Why we are
and why
we be
is more
than seeking
what we see
Deep  inside
the universe
merges all
on planet earth
Different karmas
all do align
into one
over time

poem of the day June 23

Can you wish
too much?
Can you wish
too little?
Is the perfect wish
somewhere
in the middle?

poem of the day June 21

The wind whipped
as thunder bellowed
Rain fell hard wet
across lively leaves
in air well charged
by lightning strikes
I thought of all
the preparation
the sun had done
earlier in the day
when heat had clung
to sweat and soul
to seed the change
that now unfolds

poem of the day June 20

The water lilies
Big blooms
of white pink
and yellow
coming out
of green lily pads
Made the swamp
look like a fancy
sensual enchanted
floating oasis
A perfect place
for a frog prince
to kiss a princess

poem of the day June 19

A heat wave
from somewhere
has spread over
the subconscious
of all sentient beings
infecting the moods
of bugs and birds
It has even spread
to us humans
where even
the righteous
doglike sinners
have stopped
pretending to
be gods

poem of the day June 18 May

May Day May Day
The road is
losing the battle
May Day May Day
The road is
losing  the war
Japanese knotweed
has overtaken
both sides
of the highway
and is threatening
to overwhelm all
of New England
May Day May Day

poem of the day June 17

Emerging
Entering
a new world
An old soul
journeys
once again
through a warm
familiar tunnel
Her first breath
of a new life
cries out
as she
meets reality
surrounded by
new guides
full of love
into another
future full
of all things
possible

poem of the day June 16

The inventions
of imperfect minds
surround the earth
with vessels of
collective understanding
Floating on waves
of many generations
Sometimes perfect
Sometimes not
but always
lots of things
to think about

poem of the day June 15

Does a tree
with a vine
of poison ivy
wrapped
around it
feel more
or less
protected
from man
than a tree
without it?

poem of the day June 14

In our bountiful
world of plenty
there is more
than enough
of everything
for everybody
Yet somehow
in this world
of very plenty
there is not enough
of plenty for everybody
People are starving
Wars are raging
Greed is growing
And the only thing
now of very plenty
with more than enough
of everything for everybody
Abundantly found
in every corner
of every state
is the invasive flower
bloom of ugly hate
So in this land
of very plenty
we must change
our inner direction
and  approach
life as friendlies
to get back to having
what the earth provides
Enough of everything
for everybody
no matter their lives

poem of the day June 13

Pretty soon
we'll live
on moons
Pretty soon
dogs will
use spoons
Pretty soon
rocks will
bloom
Pretty soon
I'll play
a tune
About the
stone dog
spoon bloom
on moons

poem of the day June 12

time is often
neglected
year after year
passing silently
without knowing
until one reaches
a certain age
then one begins
to wonder
where did
all that time go?

poem of the day June 11

The wheel
of dreams
The spin of life
All aboard
the moving train
Take a seat
mine the folds
Expand the mind
as life unfolds

poem of the day June 10

Like what
would you be
if you were
born a bee?
Would you be
a worker bee
a lifetime slave
to all you see?
Would you be
a flying mating
short lived
jigolo drone
who after sex
is kicked
out of his home
Or would you
want to be
the queen bee
adorned in
lavish royalty
but spends all
her life birthing
other bees?

poem of the day June 9

The eyes froze
the willing souls
as they led
the way into
the screen door
full of all sorts
of distractions
Everything from
laughing babies
shooting machine guns
To the food served
at death row dinners
From dogs thinking
they are more cat
than cats
To cartoon games
full of ugly avatars
seeking  sex
with strangers in hot cars
These lines of
artificial addiction
bring all sorts of
fleeting enlightenments
to the blinded eyes
now owned by
the light of big
unstoppable screens
Where unknowing souls
have walked through open doors
to star as willing zombies
in the great zombie apocalypse

poem of the day June 8

The breath
of rock
so hard to see
never moves
for eternity
Yet if
you let
your mind
wander deep
inside a stone
The breath
of rock
exhales
at dawn

poem of the day June 7

I wonder
about
the lives
inside
of H2O
What does
ice feel
when it
melts
into liquid?
Does water
get excited
as it rushes
to the sea?
Does water
tingle in
the ethereal
when it
evaporates
into steam?
All these stages
are easy to see
but mostly
I wonder
what water
feels
when it
flows inside
a dream
like me

poem of the day June 6

Sort of
a lack luster
serenade
coming from
the birds today
Soft dull very
low energy  songs
a cherp here
a peep there
no stereo
no passion
no technicolor
no avian soul
Just monolithic
mono peeps
of zombie birds
going through
the motions
on an overcast dawn

poem of the day June 5

A canopy
of green
overgrows
the landscape
with a fresh
season of leaves
The happy trees
can be seen smiling
Unfurling their flags
The different hues
of wavy green
merge effortlessly
with each other
in and out
of all winds
like an army at peace

poem of the day June 4

Everybody
comes and goes
Everybody has
an inner flow
Everybody has
a certain glow
Everybody has a name
Who we are
are what we  be
Flying round
some seasoned sea
within flames of reality
in long boats with destiny
paddling hard toward eternity

poem of the day June 3

A Single
minded light
clear of
all distractions
is always
aware of
the rainbow
shining within
Whereas
A Single
minded soul
full of
clouded distractions
has a hard
time seeing
the same rainbow
as it shines
throughout humanity

poem of the day June 2

The edge
the rim
of all things
only exist
between
bundles of
mind & matter
where they
often clash
with forces not
used to ending

poem of the day June 1

News flash
I thought
humans were
the top of
the food chain
and insects
were on
the bottom
but after
getting
eaten alive
by black flies
I guess
the bugs
didn't get
the memo
