The evolution

between path

and road

can take 

many years

to unfold

but each footprint

no matter 

how small

or hard to see

adds volume

like a history

of travelers 

telling travelers

who come

from far away

carrying the foundation

of human civilization 

until over time 

the path of old

becomes a road
