poem of the day September 5 

the great lakes

were pretending

to be oceans

and were able to

fool many a sea captain

that got caught up 

in wind powered waves

but even though the lakes 

were able to sink many a ship

including the Edmund Fitzgerald

they did not have a single tide

they could call their own
