poem of the day September 9 

A thick September sun

poked through

wild jungle foliage

covering both banks

of a lazy meadow stream

shining a warm

afternoon light on 

the water below

Small brook trout 

came out of the shadows

to gather in large numbers

sunning themselves 

on a shallow sandbar

enjoying a sun soaked afternoon
