poem of the day November 10

I found
myself in
Smileland
trying to find
a smile
to remember
We've all
seen one
Hoped for one
Maybe even been one
Felt the twist of lips
the spontaneous
curl up call into the soul
As I walked
through Smileland
I became overwhelmed
by the vastness
of smiles
nervous smile
sad smile
fresh smile
used smile
happy smile
innocent smile
With so many smiles
they all began to feel fake
making it impossible to find
an all knowing smile
I soon became tired
of too many smiles
floating around
and I found myself
somehow wishing for a frown
so I sat down on an upturned log
trying to smile my way out of this fog
