poem of the day March 31
It was
a grand gobbling
turkey time
A fine feathered
jamboree
The Toms were
all flexing
their beards
feathers spread
strutting their stuff
The Hens were
all flocked up
milling around
like virgin
potato ladies
judging farmboys
i could tell as
I was driving by
it would soon
become quite a lively affair

poem of the day March 24
And sometimes
those beats
were just down
the street
jiving in
some kind
of song
They were
twisting the roots
off some fine
looking spruce
as the sun
rose over the morn
Their beautiful
dance was
only by chance
Spontaneous
as spontaneous
can be
All was gone
in a flash
run out of gas
Until Alice
appeared with her tea

poem of the day March 19
The reason
why peace
love & happiness
are so elusive
So rare to achieve
is their acceptance
of everybody's everything
making it nearly impossible to
match the popularity of
selfish ignorant grievance
which thrives by nonacceptance
Where division is cultivated daily
to express the overwhelming emotions
required to fuel the anger needed for
war hate & unhappiness

poem of the day March 12
I am here to report
the outer space station
has successfully docked
up to the giant black hole thing store
All the well dressed brave astronauts
have disembarked
armed with space age shopping bags
and have entered the hole of extreme temptation
As a nation we wish them the best of luck
knowing the risks they face of being
trapped like most others before them
into a one way journey
full of things found in
the black hole store of desire

poem of the day March 11
War is good
for predatory business
for extreme market swings
Where the art of trading lives
for big globs of blood money
has become for the most powerful
a well dressed obsesion
fueled by using greasy grimy gopher guts
of inside information
full of souls of mutilated monkey meat
All while greedily wearing
the insincere fake white hat of disrespectful
disingenuous self serving compassion

a poem of the day March 7
Long old abandoned
but still with a view
humbled on the road
with an invisible hue
Big trees lined up
very side by side
in the evening air
of the countryside
The old place is now
a new restaurant
that has somehow
landed in the hills
of Charlemont
It made me think of
other fallen places passed
that find some way
to be reborn and recast

poem of the day February 28
When a madman
is allowed to
rule the greatest
nation in the world
for his own cruel satisfaction
His own selfish profit
with no checks or balances
Using endless war
as a distraction
to hide his fearful
delusional insecurity
It is time for all Americans
old young liberal conservative
to take to the streets
in order to save the soul of democracy

poem of the day February 24
Space is
a dangerous place
full of bounty hunters
Black hole
star collectors
hunt stars
that drift
too far away
from the fold
of the Milky Way
Lured in by
the irresistible
weight of gravity
The poor lonely
stars become
trapped into
the insatiable
force of darkness
where for
the unfortunate
there is no known escape

poem of the day February 21
Immortality
we all desire it
hope for it
Yet unaware
we are
all immortal
in mortal bodies
All of us should
rejoice in this
universal truth
Everyone is
very immortal
until the day
we die
then we are not
A simple concept
easy to understand
within the eternal line
found between
the magic space
life and death

poem of the day February 17
I woke up
horrified
to find I have
a free ranging
bug zoo
An insectarium
living the good life
free loading in
my living room
Spider
Stink Bug
Wasp
Ladybug
and Big Black Fly
Mostly invasive
undocumented
non American pests
from other lands
threatening my way of life
I think I will have
to call the president
before the cockroaches arrive
and have him order
the homeland
to surge an ice raid
and exterminate
the Un-American freeloading buggers

poem of the day February 13
The missing link
of humanity
The survival of the fittest
once served emotions
raw and uncooked
in order to save
the species from
wild monstrous beasts
Now with the wild tamed
Humanity has been
thoroughly brainwashed from
eating to many processed ideas
full of shiny distractions
shown daily on the big screen
Emotions are now slow cooked
to be devoid of compassion
Programed souls are left
to boil in a stew of war
There the survival of the species
has been slowly supplanted
by the cunning survival of the mega rich

poem of the day February 12
I can tell
by the ring
around their trunks
the poor maples
are all having
serious bouts
of cabin fever
Are going crazy
after spending
the long winter
stuck underground
in their root basement
binging on
nothing but
sugar water
Before the trees go insane
I do hope the sun
comes out
with a blast of
warm sugar weather
and lets the maples
escape their hovel
to begin the sweet spring race
up to the tips of their branches

poem of the day February 11
frozen ice
on the Deerfield
has opened
a glimpse into
the secret
unknown world
of never ending water
as it moves
down toward
the sea
Many including me
have spotted
the clear vertical
wall of ice
that has risen
in the middle
of the oxbow
revealing for all
the back fin of
the very illusive
almost always hidden
winding river god

poem of the day February 3
If you dropped
into a body
from outer space
after a night
of cosmic dreaming
armed only with
the roadmap
of human perfection
Knowing nothing
of the aches and pains
within the body
you jumped into
Even though it was
your own body
The one you live in
Could you overcome
your familiar roads of suffering
to try the different
less traveled path
of human perfection

poem of the day January 29
What color
would you be
to be free
to climb a tree?
Would you
play it safe
be leafy green
maybe mellow yellow
like a submarine?
Would you
be willing
to be Brown
climb up the trunk
only to be
thrown down
to the ground
by a wild gang
of angry thugs
firing live slugs?
Would you
be Black
always to be
attacked
by some
cartoon dudes
in masks and hats?
Or would you
be lily White
armed to the teeth
with a cowardly might
alone in the Whitehouse
devoid of all light?

poem of the day January 18
True love
has become
so rare
so desired
so monetized
It is now collected
and treated as trophies
So no wonder
with so many
people using love
as an investment
Many are willing to pay
staggering amounts
for the perfect love
Making true love so valuable
it is mostly
place on shelves
high on pedestals
separated, unrequited
sitting all by itself
And now with
so many AI fake loves
on the market
It is virtually impossible
to tell real love from fake love
especially when most
real love stuck alone
on a shelf with only itself

Of course
with so many
out of their mind
Earthlings living
like they are
Zombies in
outer space
there has to be
a group
right now
fantasizing
about sitting
on lunar chairs
sipping cocktails
watching the earthrise
illuminate the moon
Getting ready to start
leaping and hopping
on Earthshadows
Earthshadows, Earthshadows....

poem of the day January 11
Everyone knew
the yellow
brick road
was only
make believe
fools good
but that did
not stop
the glittering pander
coming non-stop
from the mouth
of the conman
spread by his army
of greedy henchmen
who were able
to convince
the frightened masses
they had to believe
all fantastical fairy tales
coming from the lips of Oz

poem of the day January 9
If you were
a rocket ship
how many
skins would
you shed
on the way
to outer space
And once you got
to the last dance
just before reaching
the border of life & death
would you plow through
the karma of the karman line
clicking magic red slippers while
sipping fresh light inside a new blue dress?
