poem of the day January 29 

The Way of Stairs

The Zen of run and rise

The gateway up or down

Ascending 

Descending

A ladder slide 

A bridge that spans

Floor to Floor

High or Low

But how to walk

a flight of stairs

is a question 

to ask before one

enters the stairwell

and begins a journey

full of all possibilities 

that are decided 

by the direction of

the very first step
