poem of the day June 18
Last night
I watched the movie
of Woodstock
The director's cut
200,000 young souls
of my generation
expressing peace love
and harmony
listening to music
while mostly naked
Young souls dancing around
a muddy field
in bodies buff
muscles of steel
It was then I came
to the realization
How time changes
body and mind
How the bodies of youth
at the end of the 60's
were mostly skinny and fit
with very few tattoos
Now fifty years later
today's young generation are
fat, obese with skin painted hues
