the ugliness

of beautiful

becomes 

apparent 

when chasing

the fountain

of youth

I see so many

perfect gems 

cut and peeled

to remove 

the faults 

of time

leaving former

beauty queens

and Ken boys

looking like 

big lip starfish 

on a saturday morning cartoon
