poem of the day May 14 

The birds

were comparing

sunrise with sunset

"I like the dark into light

the way the dawn opens

into the day

The songs are more

uplifting" crowed the Rooster

"I like the day into night

the way dusk closes

into the dark

the songs are more

soulful" hooted  the owl

"I like them both the same

The songs of sunrise

and sunset both 

are stages of time

in which to sing

Though I do have to admit

the worming is better

in the morning" 

mused the Robin
