poem of the day July 10 

I am

afraid 

of sharks

Maybe you 

are too?

Shark Week

has my

irrational fear 

on super edge

even though

I am miles

from the sea

I am really scared 

knowing the reach of sharks

seem to have no limits

I am very frightened

Like what if I have

a dream where

I'm dangling my legs

on a surfboard

my sister has

somehow talked

me into riding 

when a big white shark

comes out of nowhere

and bites me in two

that would be a nightmare
