poem of the day April 2

The biggest fad
of the 21 century
was dream-streaming
With a couple of electrodes
planted into the brain
you could pick from a whole
host of dreams to
fiddle the night away
A huge menu to
forget your daily mundane life
You could change sex
Drive a Rolls Royce
Eat at the finest restaurants
Live on mars
Surf giant waves
Make love with anything
And then wake up each day
in your own bed
It was so popular
So addicting
that soon we were
sleeping all the time
dreaming the same
dreams as me as you
as Captain Kangaroo
Slowly slipping out
of our body-mind
until the reality
of who you are
was far removed
from the birthday star
